SBST need to tackle the root of the problems with Yishun commuters rapidly.

from March 2018 bendy buses will only be narrowed to service 800. The extended bendy buses for 18 years will be phased out altogether. 184 and most likely 160/170 will also be using bendy buses from 2018.
Unlikely 160 and 170 will use articulated buses.

Are you crazy or what cross border svc using bendy buses?
160 & 170 also does not carry wheelchair-accessible logo at all. except 170A where it is free to do so.
lol SG5999Z can now be operated on any service by any PTO haha

So that means the 12.8m vehicle was a success which allows LTA to remove all restrictions on a fixed length bus , now it means buses longer than 12m can be operated by PTO in SG but Rear wheel steering is a MUST . Looking forward to see future buses that is 12M+ long fixed body and with RAS ( Rear assist steering ) . Imagine a 12.8m bus operating on service 33 ? Wouldn't it be awesome and efficient as 33 got a lot of load throughout its whole route & double decker are not allow because of height restrictions?

Svc 15*, 29, 57, 100**, 105, 121*, 124, 131*, 138, 159, 170X, 195* could benefit from 12.8m SDs, just to name a few more.
* If possible to maneuver
** Can just use DDs although don't know why still not deployed
SBS9675U and SBS9677P now awaiting deregistration.
SBS9677P is still in revenue service on Service 74 today.

It does not mean anything... it was already officially registered...previously, there was restriction because of the trial...
there was already a trial of the long bus SBS997 previously......and buses which are longer than 12m are already on the roads for so many years (referring to bendies).
there are issue with parking lots at interchange as well to accomodate these 12.8m buses...
I wonder why SBST don't take those two SBST livery Citaros at Bulim?Seletar got more than enough space.

Do you think 12.8m tri axles SD easy to maneuver around Joo Chiat or Airport basements? If 15 or 195 can easily use 12.8m SD might as well deploy 12m DDs
Changi airport basement has height restrictions. No DD can enter.
On the whole, 12.8m rigids best suited for feeders or inter-town routes.

Oops, forgot about that.

If only CAG & LTA can resurfaced and lowered the road at all the basement to be DD friendly,I think Airport svc doesn't need to many fleets
When you put in a 12.8m bus with 3 doors, although you think you increase the capacity by just 0.8m, you may actually end up having lesser capacity because of the extra door space... Only advantage is probably the faster boarding alighting.
If you stick to 2 doors, your passenger movement is going to be a problem like SBS997. And a 12.8m bus with step free exit for the 3rd door has yet to seen in Singapore.
When put everything together, a 3-Door 18m Bendy bus might still be superior to a 12.8m SD because the bendy can maneuvre easier, have step free exit for rear door and also have boosted capacity equivalent to a DD. Might as well stick to the 18m bendy which has been tested and proven to be successful since 20 years ago and use it sparingly only for services that need them (feeder/height restricctions)...
But.. I support a 3 Door DD. Definitely helps ease some of the common problems our DDs face in SIngapore as a result of the 2 doors. I rather have a 3 Door DD replace the bendys on feeders vs a 12.8m SD if LTA is so against those 18m Bendys.

I prefer the e500 three door, easy flowing...it not by capacity but the movement flowing and alighting of pax from a DD.
Bt Merah winner announcement took so long and I'm not surprised if SBST is the winner judging by Seletar style.

Bukit Merah and Sembawang most likely remain with incumbents. Hope Hougang goes to other operators if that is the case.
Not sure how 265 and 268 will be amended by the time seletar depot starts to run. I have come out wif at least 3 outcomes, not sure how likely these are:
1. They still make use of AMK depot for whatever reason
2. They get extended to SEDEP. Pretty sure they will continue wif the current routing to connect to YCK road, but not sure if they would serve the NCS Hub bus stops, and/or a new pair of bus stops along YCK Cresent b4 entering SEDEP
3. They get squeezed into YCK Int

IF follow KBW style of protecting the local Operators and cost saving attitude, then every packages stays with incumbents. If his team focus on cost, then China Operators got high chance..But remember one thing, you pay peanuts you get monkey
