325
With 325's falling demand due to a better alternative service, it's original purpose (which is to serve Buangkok Green residents and Buangkok Medical Park) is long forgotten, and it now exists as a long mess of extensions over decades.
The only probable reason why 325 still has demand is because of the crowd that avoids 101 during peak hours. To alleviate this situation, the bus route will be (massively) shortened to cater to more residents, and less unnecessary winding route.
The 2004 extension is reverted because there is already 62, 107 and 132 serving the affected stops. Most people would take 325 just because it arrived before 132.
Mending the route to follow 27 and stopping at the stop which only has 43/43M along Buangkok Drive provides another relief to the residents living along that route which lacks any direct bus service to major amenities until the introduction of 43. Directly linking 325 there would ease the peak hour crowds on 43 from Buangkok MRT.
It would also ply the entire length of Hougang Street 51 and 91, avoiding Buangkok Medical Park as there is no reason for it anymore (161 killed it's original purpose).
Also new to this route would be that it will stop at 3 new bus stops, two which is served solely by CDS 660 which is quite close to Ci Yuan Community Centre, and a new bus stop opposite Yio Chu Kang Primary which 101 stops only at one direction.
It also would skip Hougang Avenue 10 sector which goes adjacent to Punggol Park as it is also seen as redundant as there is already 113 and many other bus services to cater the crowd.
Bus Service 114 Introduction:
114This new bus service will be the first of it's kind - the only bus service to link the North-East to North-West.
It will utilise the entire length of Mandai Road, and will be an excellent service to compliment the North-South Line.
The bus service massively duplicates 927 and 138 at the moment, but it can be amended to Stagmont Ring to serve Yew Tee residents as well once the road expansion project is complete.

Another feeder svc that IMO should be amended is 372. Takes load from 50/102 and now there is 110 from Anchorvale Dr to MRT.
372 Modified
Sengkang Interchange >> Sengkang East Way >> Anchorvale Rd >> Anchorvale Lane (connecting new developments) >> Sengkang East Ave >> Sengkang East Rd >> Anchorvale Dr >> Anchorvale Rd >> Sengkang East Way >> Sengkang East Rd >> Sengkang Interchange
* Removes the low loading loop between Anchorvale & Punggol Road
* Connects new flats along Anchorvale Lane to Sengkang MRT
110 Modified
Compassvale Interchange >> Sengkang East Way >> Punggol Road >> Compassvale Dr >> Anchorvale Dr & continues...
* Maintains link between Punggol road and Anchorvale estate after removing 372. This makes more sense for trunk service to connect than a feeder with high frequency.
* Above modification ensures no loss of connection while enhancing overall effectiveness and connectivity in Sengkang.

I was somewhat inclined to draw the inference that 372 might be withdrawn...
Maybe in 2018
Service 58 shortened to Tampines Int.
Service 68 introduced between Pasir Ris Interchange and Tampines Concourse Interchange to cover Service 58 deleted sectors in 2H 2018. Fleet could be Volvo 7900 Hybrid.

Is it advisable for 128 to be converted to express / premium / city-direct?
Originally posted by AJQZC:Is it advisable for 128 to be converted to express / premium / city-direct?
128 is an express service but does not charge express fares. However, since the population has grown in 2006, additional services are critically needed to reduce congestion with new Premium services, Express services and after that it evolved into City Direct services.

128 demand rather low alr... but if route can be amended to circle around AMK i guess it can
128 should change to re number to 516 so that the article of 128 can amdend to others area for what the article looks like lta won’t make it any better
They can already do away with 128. Loading has been low for quite some time now. 128 cannot compete NSL.

svc 58 cut will cause problem. 58 AM and PM crowd still come from pasir ris and tamp to kaki bukit and further up.
if start form tampines, ppl rather take DTL and become ghost service

I actually think 128 would be a huge hit if i) it gets amended to inner parts of AMK/Bishan, and ii) it gets more publicity.

agree... or can use CT8 route all the way from yck to cte

CT8 should be converted to a regular express service. Cheaper fares --> higher popularity

The reason why 128 has dropped demand coz it only operates during peak hours, and this also cause the popularity of the service to drop as not many ppl will know it exist, even residents there. It could be made to full day service, with like 15min freq, which can effectively compliment the NSL. Being peak service is not enuf

no need to make 128 full day... you can see the demand of most bus service during off peak from 9am to 4pm...and at night time, do not need to see more empty buses running around..
first thing, they have cut the run time.. it took almost 1 hr 15 mins to travel from shenton way to AMK..... they should have make it express after somerset mrt (turn to paragon and onto CTE)... now 128 travel along newton/thomson road... and got stuck even though there is bus lane...
Here's what I think:
Service 502
Current route
Beach Road
Crawford Street
Lavender Street
Serangoon Road
Central Expressway
Tampines Expressway
Punggol Road
Sengkang East Way
Sengkang Square

Due to NEL?

128 is just a peak-hour express service but charges trunk fares (cheaper). But it is one-off than other express services.

502's route is something that none of the western residents or commuters will ever go to the north east. That is the reason why they cut it. First, most of the route may duplicate 501. Second, to provide connectivity to MBS and Suntec.
501 is upgraded to Transcity Bus Services bus service 550 and City Direct service 654.
81: cut south of Serangoon, about 5 SDs and 6 DDs lost
82: cut south of Serangoon, all the double deckers transferred to 107.
85: withdrawn. About 5 SDs and 20 DDs gone.
97: cut north of City Hall (and diverted to Marina Centre via Esplanade Dr and former 79 routing), about 12 DDs gone.
103: cut south of Serangoon, about 8 SDs lost
106: cut east of Dhoby Ghaut (and diverted to Marina Centre/MBS/Suntec), about 3 SDs and 8 bendies lost
111: cut east of Dhoby Ghaut (and diverted to Marina Centre only), about 9 DDs gone
147: after NEL rationalisation, the rest of single deckers all convert to double deckers.
501: withdrawn. about 1 SD and 10 DDs gone
502: cut east of Dhoby Ghaut (and diverted to Marina Centre/MBS/Suntec), about 4 DDs and 5 SDs gone
511/512: withdrawn. about 5 SDs and 7 DDs gone
Net loss:
SDs - 5 + 5 + 8 + 3 + 5 + 1 + 5 = 32
DDs - 6 + 20 + 12 + 9 + 10 + 5 + 7 = 69
