Hmm... When will 974 be officially announced? This better be real...
I have been dreaming of such a route for so long. I'm so sick of the lack of bus service on KJE, the crowding and long journey time of 172 and 180, the congestions and multiple traffic lights around Boon Lay Int, the overcrowded EWL & NSL, and the chaos at Jurong East MRT. (I hate it when the doors of the NSL close right in my face after I step out of the EWL. I hate it when I go to Platform D and realise the next NSL train departs at Platform A. I hate it when my NSL train goes to Platform A when I want to transfer to the westbound EWL.)
I can't wait for 974 to launch. :D

I always thought you lived in Bedok North St 3 given you were so vocal about 137.
974 is a good route, but it is a mistake to ply SDs on the route. Given that it connects BPJ and CCK to Boon Lay, Pioneer, Joo Koon, I expect a lot of takers during peak hours (evidence from 172/180 shows so... )

Haha. I live in Bedok North but I spend half of my life in the west thanks to my NS, my jobs and my studies. I care about bus services all over the island but I pay more attention to services in Bedok and Jurong West.
Will 974 call at the pair of "bus stops" at Boon Lay Way outside Boon Lay MRT, currently functioning as drop-off points and served by NR5 & CW6?
Kind of surprised 258 didn't have a stop there when it was amended...

That bus stops is freaking busy with private cars,buses,PHVs..Have to enforce LTA officers for a few weeks if 974 should stop there.

There will be DDs also..Hopefully LTA will lease a few A95 just like GAS received the A95s.Hopefully from 2020 onwards,TTS win a contract in the North,Northeast or East and I can request for a transfer there. My motorcycle journey from Tampines to Bulim takes around 30mins to 35-38 mins if there's a heavy traffic.

I'll be honest with you, TTS is giving LTA a lot of problems.

For a start it will be SD and DD, but it will only be full DD when Tengah New Town is fully ready. This means that there will be new BTOs in Tengah. MINDEF had been doing ongoing rationalisation of training areas. This means it will be consolidated to Pulau Tekong (with the polder area) or Lim Chu Kang.

Did you jump ship already?
Anyway, I think GA will get Hougang while TT will get Clementi. SBST will lose Jurong to SMRT and everything else stays the same.

They regarded the bus stops at Blk 662D and opp Blk 661C along Jurong West St 64 as the bus stops that linked to Boon Lay MRT and thus they bypass the bus stop along Boon Lay Way.
Last time when Boon Lay ITH was just opened 194 and 240 bypassed the bus stops at Jurong West Street 64 and called at the bus stops along Boon Lay but after a short while they called at the bus stops along Jurong West St 64 and bypass the Boon Lay Way bus stops instead.
I am looking forward to the launch of 974 also as I lives alongside the stretch of Jurong West St 63 and it will be the first time that this stretch of road have bus services plying outside Jurong West New Town, NTU and Jurong/Tuas Industrial Estates not counting night riders.

According to Landtransportguru, it seems like 974 will be calling at the same bus stops along Upp Bt Timah Rd, Petir Road, Jelebu Road and Bt Panjang Road twice in different directions.
I got feeling service 67 will be shortened/expunged when service 974 is introduce as it is both their routes are duplicating each other from CCK MRT - Bt Panjang MRT.

Should ply (Out of Bt Panjang Bus Park):
Senja Way
Senja Road (first and last stops)
Bt Panjang Ring Road
Bt Panjang Road
Gangsa/Petir/Jelebu Road
(resume route)
Even if this route is more winding, there will be less confusion for commuters as well as a new bus service for Gangsa Road.

I feel you. I used to work in Tuas and my motorcyle journey from Bedok to Tuas took around 35-40 minutes.

Yeah, I want to say this also. I feel happy for the residents along JW St 63.
974 is also the first full-day bus service in the Pioneer/Joo Koon area that goes out of Jurong without passing through the tortuous Jurong West Ave 1 and Jurong East Ave 1.
Another benefit is that Jurong West residents can take 974 and change to NSL at CCK and DTL at BPJ, if the EWL is closed/delayed.
Hi,
As of now according to LandTransportGuru, 974 will be using Berth B2 (sharing with 253, 257 & 258), instead of B1 (formerly used by 256).
So the situation now according to LandTransportGuru is, B1 will only have 2 services while B2 will have 4 services?
Regards, Jonathan Leong

If 983 is extended to Jalan Anak Bukit, 67 will really really be shortened to Cavenagh Road/Keng Lee Road/Rochor Canal Road. Because the Bukit Timah Road had been skipping bus stops (Hint: it is not because of DTL2. they still very hard to dump cars).

Makes sense after second thought, but I still hope not because 67 is still the only service from CCK Way to Upp Bt Timah Rd, aside from the one bus stop at BPJ MRT which 974 serves.

Good route.
Though should I be disappointed that it didn't connect with 171 to become an express service between Jurong West -- CCK -- BPJ -- Yishun? ![]()

I dont think 974 will stop there.

But 974 doesn't go to Tengah, it bypasses it via KJE.

Not possible coz 67 is the only service connecting CCK and Upper Bukit Timah. 67 currently has good 70-90 pax loading from CCK Way to CCK MRT. 974 will eat into its loading but with the new flats occupancy increasing, it should balance out. Unlike other towns, the LRT and bus stops are at different distances, giving 67/188 a feeder role within CCK.

Would have been too long and then unreliable.
