You can judge how they utilise their resources by observing how they constantly deploy 2 DDs to Sv857A (Yishun-YCK Road).. While throwing SDs to Sv857 during a typical weekday morning peak hour..
Sv857A should be getting the SDs instead since there's Sv854 complementing that same sector..
I think they deploy DDs on 857A so that the DDs can do more trips on 857A during peak hours rather than 1 loop of 857 during peak hours. The loading is quite heavy from Khatib to YCK road during peak hours.
They should beef up capacity on 854 and 857 both. Even if 857 gets 50-60 pax and not 70+ pax, still these are long distance travelers to city and making them stand along CTE is not a nice thing to do.

They can't see that 969 should be full fleet DD and not the 83?? Makes me fume!!!
I think it could be that LTA person living in Punggol who has made 83/85 full fleet DD as it suits his purpose. I can't think of any other rationale of doing so after months of data that can show apart from 2-3 trips a day, the DDs never get utilized on 83 and maybe a few more on 85 (though 85 I can say ok because there are around 50-55 pax from Sengkang to Yishun who can get comfortable ride).

It's true,once we feedback regarding svc 3,82,83,85 & 136 all they say is LTA decision
If im in charge of the bus distribution i definitely will distribute the B3 A95 to all operators
20 each for TTS & GAS
42 for SBST & 40 for SMRT
Order 100 Euro6 B8L 350hp & 100 Euro6 A95 and distribute again

Sv857A has only 2 departures from Yishun Int.. Done by 2 buses..

Should be an indication that the trial is successful and they will be retaining it on the roads. I do hope that LTA is not going ahead with any further SD orders for the next 4 to 5 years because what they seriously need is HC replacements and expansions, and even with the possible scenario of bus services getting withdrawn!

The single decker would have completed their journey of replacements, with the last 50 DM3500s being replaced in 2017-18. So no need any more single deckers. If there is new bus services, then rationalise the loading of other bus services.
