Fleet changes in bus services in the North-East areas

  The NEL has started operation. So, more passengers along the North-East areas may switch from taking bus to taking train, bus services along the areas may see a sharp decrease in passenger loads, then SBST has to replace the double deckers with single deckers and frequency will also be longer.
  
  If you see any fleet changes or other changes in bus services that plys Punggol, Sengkang, Jln Kayu, Hougang, Serangoon North, Serangoon town centre, Potong Pasir and Little India areas in the next 3 months. Please post your observations here. Thank you.

  Diversion of SBS Transit 130 and 139:
  
  With effect from that Saturday, the 2 buses will skipping the Lavender Street section of the route, and instead turn into Serangoon Road (no stops), Boon Keng Road (to help fill the NEL station), Bendemeer Road, Jln Besar (Normal route follows)
  
  Diversion of SBS Transit 125 and 21:
  
  The 2 buses will be skipping the Lavender Street portion of their old routes, and will instead call at the Bendemeer Road bus stop (before Lavender Street), Jln Besar, Kitchener Road, Serangoon Road (Farrer Park NEL Station), Balestier Road (Normal route)

  i;m on to it.
  
  but so far i see 85 and 111 got more lower deck bus (by one unit at least i know) - 2668 of 86 now on 85, 1973 is back on 111
  
  meanwhile 502 still "feels" normal. yet to see any ex-502 buses out there.
  
  The tridents on 111 have INCREASED. oddly enough. 9684 and 9688 were added to 111's fleet today.

  Hi,
  I am new to this forum and have equal enthusiasm on buses as all of you do.
  
  Got some insiders info that there is a redutction of about 5 buses on each majority trunk service along NEL...e.g. 62,80,82,85,97,111,147, etc
  
  Saw a Dennis Trident SBS9676S (ex-502) yesteday on service 80 and SBS9674Y (ex-85) also on service 80. Seemed like Service 80 will have more Tridents!

  i know one thing for usre. 502 has more superbuses running on it now.
  
  Since 2677 and 2678 have been removed and put on Svc 27. also svc 27 has managed to let go of one mark 3 bus and now it is running around.
  
  111 seems normal for now.
  
  svc 97 was packed the other day i saw it.
  
  107 had no pax along shenton way. (horror music). and that was during peak hours.
  
  82 still very much filled up during peak hours

  Why would Sv. 502 get more Superbuses? Due to the fact headways have increased and more passengers board it at one shot?

  Maybe they are trying to extend the headways so as to get more passengers to fill the Super buses. In the manner, they can let go the single deckers to some other single-deck only services which need more buses.

  Do you think SBST and PTC will change their minds on the withdrawal? I think they didn't withdraw the services immediately so as to "test"

  One thing for sure, 85, 97 and 111 now use quite a few B10M Mk IIs. Whether they are permanent buses or not I'm not sure. I didn't get to catch the regos, as I HEAR these buses roar by my place. On 27 Jun, I was at Jurong East Interchange and took photos of TWO Mk IIs within an hour, and missed the third one.

  On Sv. 97? You suay lohz, I found out the VSO passing by your place at 5.45am is 9816E making its way for Sv. 56 first trip of the day. It leaves BRAM at 5.38am, departs Marina at 6.00am. Was looking at timesheet of bus driver. And the 6.15am VSO is definitely 9816E again.
