Hmm..let's see what will happen to the CNG babies...Originally posted by off_service:As noted by sources, Jurong Island Services 711, 712 and 713 are withdrawn wef Sunday, 29 June 2003.
They are only withdrawn in name. The services still exist however they are now operated by a private bus company now. Any ideas who it is?Originally posted by off_service:As noted by sources, Jurong Island Services 711, 712 and 713 are withdrawn wef Sunday, 29 June 2003.
I believe a friend of mine saw a poster by SBST thanking commuters for their support over the past 3 years or so.Originally posted by tranquilice:I was at Jurong East interchange last Saturday, I didn't saw any notices on the withdrawal, however I saw a notice asking the passengers of former services 711 to 713 to board at a new berth (B7) from Monday 30 June.
It's on the SBS Transit website too.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I believe a friend of mine saw a poster by SBST thanking commuters for their support over the past 3 years or so.
Maybe SBST displayed them from Sunday 29 June?Originally posted by SBS9818A:I believe a friend of mine saw a poster by SBST thanking commuters for their support over the past 3 years or so.
They were already up on Friday 27 June.Originally posted by tranquilice:Maybe SBST displayed them from Sunday 29 June?
I was at the interchange on Saturday 28 June at 8.30am but didn't see such posters.
No. There WILL be only 12 CNG B10BLEs, have NFI where the other 10 are, they will definitely not be enough to replace B10M Mk II and Scania N113CRB buses. A pity the Scanias will leave so soon, they are the most powerful single-deck in SBST fleet, and QUIET too!Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:CNG buses will replace the old mark 2 and scania ( THANKS GOODNESS ) i guess .

Which are very rare. Another contender for quiet award is the DM3500-bodied B10M Mk IV.Originally posted by tranquilice:But not all are quiet, I have taken some noisy Scania buses.
Agreed, Mk4 DM3500 and Mk4 strider are quiet buses.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Which are very rare. Another contender for quiet award is the DM3500-bodied B10M Mk IV.
Strider-bodied Mk. IVs are QUIET? Are you joking? The noisiest Mk IV around are Strider-bodied ones!Originally posted by tranquilice:Agreed, Mk4 DM3500 and Mk4 strider are quiet buses.

The screeching one hears once the bus accelerates is the fan belt going haywire.Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:What's the "horn" sound of Volvo Mk3s and sometimes Mk2s? noisy sound on mk4-strider is the air-con compressor?
Well, it depends on what kinda condition of the Mk 4 Strider it is. I took one on Svc 156 last time. It isn't sound very noisy. I suppose that the engine of the bus is being maintained well. =)Originally posted by SBS9818A:The screeching one hears once the bus accelerates is the fan belt going haywire.
SBST maintainance leaves MUCH to be desired. Even TIBS keep their buses is much better condition, although it is noteworthy that their maintainance isn't very good as well.Originally posted by SBS9816E:Well, it depends on what kinda condition of the Mk 4 Strider it is.
