Maybe its the turbo in action. Hey, can anyone explain the loud "eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwww" sound from the engine that is emitted by some Lance 211s when they accelearte. This is especially loud on TIB1007 and sometimes on TIB1014. Is it due to the turbo or the gears in the gearbox are straining and need some oilingOriginally posted by SBS9818A:Hmm, perhaps it was unleashing the power of the British Lance 245?

It could possibly be the turbo whistle. This situation only happened when the bus accelerated, although the sound is unnerving I still like Lance 211s a lot!Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Maybe its the turbo in action. Woo .... u should try 1015 . That is one horrible bus . ( try seating at the back on a hot sunny day )Originally posted by SBS9818A:It could possibly be the turbo whistle. This situation only happened when the bus accelerated, although the sound is unnerving I still like Lance 211s a lot!
Yes. All Lance 211s, but I don't know why 1015J in particular, is REALLY bad bus.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Woo .... u should try 1015 . That is one horrible bus . ( try seating at the back on a hot sunny day )
You find for me lohz. I stand corrected, the screeching is caused by the fanbelt.Originally posted by off_service:Yes. All Lance 211s, but I don't know why 1015J in particular, is REALLY bad bus.
Are you sure? My ride on this particular bus was good, aircon is cooling during the extremely hot afternoon of Saturday (yesterday). Sitting in the middle of the bus.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:TIB1014 is a toaster no matter where you sit, except that you get mildly crisp in the front and severe burns at the last row.
Ha! Looks like I'll have to find it and see for myself if what BluBlur says is true.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:TIB1014 is a toaster no matter where you sit, except that you get mildly crisp in the front and severe burns at the last row.
TIB 1014 L: svc 852Originally posted by tranquilice:Which services are 1014 and 1015 on?
The only reason that I think TIB1186Z's experience was bad, is that the driver probably adjusted the thermostat higher. Assuming that latter can be adjusted.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Ha! Looks like I'll have to find it and see for myself if what BluBlur says is true.
Possibly. Even 1007H aircon was much colder than the DAF I was on previously.Originally posted by BluBlur:The only reason that I think TIB1186Z's experience was bad, is that the driver probably adjusted the thermostat higher. Assuming that latter can be adjusted.
I remember the cooling effect because of the recent slammings. Did a comparison with the bus that I transferred next, TIB523R (965) and 1145S (903). Both was slightly warmer than 1014L.
I don't think so.Originally posted by BluBlur:The only reason that I think TIB1186Z's experience was bad, is that the driver probably adjusted the thermostat higher. Assuming that latter can be adjusted.

Yeah maybe you are right, but is it too much of a coincidence considering that TIB1014L is in that condition in the morning, night and afternoon for 6 months?!Originally posted by BluBlur:The only reason that I think TIB1186Z's experience was bad, is that the driver probably adjusted the thermostat higher. Driver make trouble for passengers lohz. He probably feels too cold.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Yeah maybe you are right, but is it too much of a coincidence considering that TIB1014L is in that condition in the morning, night and afternoon for 6 months?!
Have you feedbacked to TIBS, in light of such prolonged period of discomfort you experienced?Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Yeah maybe you are right, but is it too much of a coincidence considering that TIB1014L is in that condition in the morning, night and afternoon for 6 months?!
Feedbacked for what? They probably don't care and dun reply that time I feedbacked about a bus driver and its 2 years.....Probably ended up as waste paper or some confetti at their party......Originally posted by BluBlur:Have you feedbacked to TIBS, in light of such prolonged period of discomfort you experienced?
At least got some hope, other than having a very bad impression that it's not fixed, blah blah.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Feedbacked for what? Better than SBST. Here are some examples of the crap I receive from them.Originally posted by BluBlur:At least got some hope, other than having a very bad impression that it's not fixed, blah blah.
I have been giving feedbacks since 2 years, and the communications assistant has been serious in every mail till today. Perhaps yours was missed.
