New Tibs service 985

Noticed that service 985 will duplicate the route of SBST 31 between Jalan Toa Payoh and Lor 1 Geylang.

Hope that Tibs can start a new service utilizing a new service using expressway (PIE) to Airport.
But noted by some others, the idea will mostly be rejected by SMRT as it is direct competition to MRT.
The idea came up as it reflects the withdrawal of service 950 in 1996 but replaced with the new 960.

I wouldn't mind Toa Payoh Int as well. This would be competition with Sv. 53 which is primaily a Hougang/Serangoon feeder service from Bishan. I took Service 985 today
Hino Volgrens and former Service 989 buses were on the service. -

One look at a Sv. 985 bus today already makes my blood boil for obvious reasons. Will get on it ONLY for the experience of taking a Hino on the highway. I took service 985 on Monday. My findings: Average numbers of passengers between Choa Chu Kang and Bt Batok East, less than average up to Jln Jurong Kechil, less than 10 up to Jln Toa Payoh, only 1 or 2 between Bendemeer and Kallang Bahru. After Kallang Bahru, some passengers boarded to get to Kallang MRT.

I have long expected it not to have any bendy buses deployed on the route, because of the exit it used from Geylang Lor 1 bus terminal. As for the regos... Yes, there are 2 exits at Lor 1 Geylang terminal. One is used by service 980 while the other is used by services 11, 853, 961 and 985. anyhow i saw many bendys parked at geylang lor 1 on sunday july 27. i speculated that they were for bus 985, since they can not be that many bendy habits on 980 at the terminal at one time.
i saw about7 habits parked all over the place.
could be that after trying habits for one day, they decided to remove them from bus 985 becoz of low demand
i suggest a general boycott of bus 985 (beyond bt timah.to Kallang mRT)

The service 185 DAFs have mainly gone to my beloved service. Complain for what? Still better than your most-hated 1014L right? Will camp for it one day, got its timings, 1610 hrs os Whitley. Yes, forgot to mention how pathetic the loads for Sv. 985 are, I was watching the buses go by Jln TPY on Sat, and passenger load is miserable, with only 2 or 3 passengers inside the bus.
