This is nice...service 9 is always so crowded and they still use Mk IIIs and Striders and the freq can be quite long at timesOriginally posted by off_service:SBS 9343 C on service 9.
Check digits dont lie. If you saw a "C" then it is 9343. Only if you saw a "P" then it would be 9348. Unless u only looked at the 4 numbers and didnt notice the check digit.Originally posted by Superbus:Eh, but wait!
I just remembered something. SBS9343C is from BNDEP (a service 69 bus) but Service 9 is a HGDEP bus.
Does this mean Service 9 will now be operated by BNDEP also? Or did I saw 9348 instead of 9343?
Will have to double check tomorrow...
Cheers and warm regards
hahhahahah maybe that old man thought u are kaypoh and just want to get on with his nap hahahahhaOriginally posted by Superbus:Updates on Service 9...
I did not see any Superbus today, partly because I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Called up Bedok Interchange to ask, and was told that the same 5 buses is still on Service 9 today. Do not know if the man bluffed me or otherwise. Was about to ask if the Cargo Complex terminal was changed or something, but I was hung up! Damn that old man!
Cheers and warm regards
Yes, of course I know about the shift in exit. Wonder why that was done. Anyway, good to know Cargo Complex can accomodate double-decks, it's high time Sv. 9 gets them in any case.Originally posted by tranquilice:The entrance and exit to Changi Airport Cargo Complex (or Changi Airfreight Centre) was shifted many years ago (in the 1990s). In the early days when services 9 and 29 plied there, the entrance and exit was further down, in the form of a round-about with the junction of Changi Coast Rd. It was later shifted to the current location with a new checkpoint complex and pass office.
I believe the shift was done after the new cargo buildings are completed, and even before the shift, double deckers can go into the cargo complex.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yes, of course I know about the shift in exit. Service 9 is only full along the whole route in the peak hours. During the off-peak hours, you can still see many empty seats on single deckers plying between Cargo Complex and Loyang Ave, after reaching/departing Tampines, then the load increase/decrease respectively.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Finally got on SBS 9226H yesterday, at Tampines the lower deck was FULL, while upper deck was 3/4 full. Loads certainly warrant a double-deck.
True, but on weekends the route is packed with passengers from Bedok - Tampines. It's the fact that the pax loads are to Tampines max, but earns money, thus SBST deploys double-decks.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 9 is only full along the whole route in the peak hours. They have no choice but to oblige, and frankly most of them are friendly enough to do so, except for a certain interchange's staff.Originally posted by stealthraider:i am very curious, how did u guys get so much info on local buses?
does SBS Transit/Tibs really entertain phonecalls asking abt bus/bus route details, right down to what type of buses are deployed and their number plates?
It's similar to what I experienced when taking photos of bus interior...There was a time when an SBS driver of svc175, who outrightly refused me to photograph the bus interior! And when I approached another bus, another driver was somewhat reluctant for me to photograph, but he gave in eventually. But he kept asking me what was my motive??Originally posted by SBS9818A:They have no choice but to oblige, and frankly most of them are friendly enough to do so, except for a certain interchange's staff.
