I suppose you are referring to the Volvo MK 3s (those on service 170s).Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Actually, I'm quite disappointed with the refurbished interior design of the mid-life SBST buses... The colour and material appearance of the new air-con ducts are quite ugly...
I think the worst retrofitting is the Volvos with bus licence plates ranging from SBS585- to SBS870-...Its interior design used to be all right, but after retrofitting, its so ugly!!!
Honestly speaking, I'd rather see it refurbished. The old carpet-like aircon bins is so-so lousy. At least the aircon is better with the new bins. However, if u wish to sit on an unrefurbished Mark 3, fret not. Hop on Service 18 or 31. There's one left. I think it's SBS857.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Actually, I'm quite disappointed with the refurbished interior design of the mid-life SBST buses... I dun think its very ugly.....at least the purple a/c chutes are more hygenic that the farbric covering that collects mites, but i miss the "ball-type" a/c regulator. However, the solvent smell in an enclosed Mk3 just after retrofitting leaves much to be desired.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Actually, I'm quite disappointed with the refurbished interior design of the mid-life SBST buses... Those 'armrests' are only installed on SBST buses operating on Service 170. They were required by the JB authorities to install those things. However, you may see these buses plying on normal routes.Originally posted by Macintosh:At least the Seats are much better compared to those Blue ones . Armrests? Where? For the plain fact I dislike the insipidness of a B10M Mk III I try not to even get on board one if possible.Originally posted by Superbus:Those 'armrests' are only installed on SBST buses operating on Service 170. Not really an armrest lar...but can be used as one. You know, the plastic, something like trapezium shape, fitted only on seats beside the exit door. These things can also be found on parallel seats on the MK4s, Scanias as well as near emergency exits.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Armrests? Where? Oh, that kind. There is an unrefurbished Mk III on Sv. 165, it's SBS 8xx, saw it just now but forgot to note down it's rego.Originally posted by Superbus:Not really an armrest lar...but can be used as one. The unrefurbished Mark 3 based at BNDEP is SBS858T. Seen serving Service 35 this morning. Which leads me to think that there may be 2 of them over at BNDEP.

Purple handgrips on B10TLs, what do you think? They have some sort of obsession with purple nowadays.Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:Why must SBS use back the same company colours? i mean it's so obit and obiang. no need so gu2 ban3. ESP PURPLE.
gay colour.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Purple handgrips on B10TLs, what do you think? They have some sort of obsession with purple nowadays.
On the other hand, IMHO, the AC double and single decks look much more presentable in the new livery, with the black window areaOriginally posted by oliver_yuen87:gay colour.
anyway, my first impression of sbst's color -- very indian. orange and purple. i was so grossed out when i saw the first bus in SBST livery. anyway, i think single decks look better in old liver, esp Mk2
I agree, esp if you increase the horizontal component and keep the vertical component constant, and throw in a failure in logic, you get something as hideous as SBS998, the entire bottom of the trailer is purple!Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:why DD don't look so disgusting? we calculate proportion
Although SD and DD are of different heights, the area of purple does not change!! => (this implies) less red covering SD and a lot of purple! so it sucks!!
And 999U. Apparently BNDEP manager decides how he wants to paint the artics. Looks like he didn't do very well in art, huh?Originally posted by TIB1186Z:I agree, esp if you increase the horizontal component and keep the vertical component constant, and throw in a failure in logic, you get something as hideous as SBS998, the entire bottom of the trailer is purple!
No bus company would want to keep a 17m oven in their fleet.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:oohhh..SBS999U is still ard la?? I understand that SBST is trying to sell away this bus, as what I learnt from the SBST website...but I just can't understand why they wanna sell this bus?? this articulated bus is still new and attractive leh!!
If only SBST would bring in L94UAs...Originally posted by TIB1186Z:No bus company would want to keep a 17m oven in their fleet.
Moreover, they like to go for common bus fleets to keep maintainance costs low....998 and 999 are odd ones out in that sense, as SBST uses DDs for its high demand routes

Aiyah,
Bus that did not being refurbish nd the air con is not cold, you all complain that air con not cold, now they are being refurbish, and now you all complain that the interior is ugly. What you all want SBST to do, change all the buses interior to marble or mosiac?
Really don't know what to say!!!!
Unrefurbished bus never mind. Air con not cold on a HOT sunny day when one is sweating like mad, that is something worth making noise about. Interior is indeed ugly, TIBS interiors are much nicer-decorated IMO. Just look at the amount of PURPLE/RED in refurbished SBST buses.Originally posted by PT21:
