Comments on interior refurbishment on SBST buses

Actually, I'm quite disappointed with the refurbished interior design of the mid-life SBST buses... The colour and material appearance of the new air-con ducts are quite ugly...
I think the worst retrofitting is the Volvos with bus licence plates ranging from SBS585- to SBS870-...Its interior design used to be all right, but after retrofitting, its so ugly!!! -

Honestly speaking, I'd rather see it refurbished. The old carpet-like aircon bins is so-so lousy. At least the aircon is better with the new bins. However, if u wish to sit on an unrefurbished Mark 3, fret not. Hop on Service 18 or 31. There's one left. At least the Seats are much better compared to those Blue ones . But those seats near the exit has extra side Support which can be inconvenice at times

I dun think its very ugly.....at least the purple a/c chutes are more hygenic that the farbric covering that collects mites, but i miss the "ball-type" a/c regulator. The seats are all quite modern and up-to-date actually, i can't think of any other colours that would suit SBST's purpose......unless u want the yucky and butt pain vogelsitze seats that are used on TIBS that dun even have cushion.....At least the refurbished seats got more cushion than the old blue or green seats
According to my knowledge, there is one unrefurbished Mk3 based at BNDEP? I think, and another at BBDEP. The one at BBDEP often serves svc 170, maybe i keep a lookout for it.

Those 'armrests' are only installed on SBST buses operating on Service 170. They were required by the JB authorities to install those things. Armrests? Where? Maybe SBS Transit should install Air Refreshners which TIBS has tried cos those B10M Mk III on Sv170 sure full of Bangalor smell on weekends.....

Not really an armrest lar...but can be used as one. You know, the plastic, something like trapezium shape, fitted only on seats beside the exit door. Although SD and DD are of different heights, the area of purple does not change!! => (this implies) less red covering SD and a lot of purple! so it sucks!! -

oohhh..SBS999U is still ard la?? I understand that SBST is trying to sell away this bus, as what I learnt from the SBST website...but I just can't understand why they wanna sell this bus?? this articulated bus is still new and attractive leh!!

Moreover, they like to go for common bus fleets to keep maintainance costs low....998 and 999 are odd ones out in that sense, as SBST uses DDs for its high demand routes -

Actually I'm not against the bus retrofitment works...
but just that if the retrofitted interior is as nice as those new volvos with licence number ranging from ~ SBS1898- SBS2803...
I just feel that the single-decks retrofitted interior looks a little cheapskate??

Unrefurbished bus never mind. Air con not cold on a HOT sunny day when one is sweating like mad, that is something worth making noise about. Interior is indeed ugly, TIBS interiors are much nicer-decorated IMO. Just look at the amount of PURPLE/RED in refurbished SBST buses.Originally posted by PT21:
