TIB1050G had been at KJDEP since it was replaced by TIB1126Y on 812. Incidentally TIB1126Y is now also at KJDEP after being replaced by TIB1232Z.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Hi , can anyone tell me where TIB1050G is right now? It was the first HAbit on svc 806 in 2000, and then disppeared to svc 800 then i lost sight of it since last yr...
I want to confirm the gearbox on TIB1050G...i remember that it is ZF-ed but the trend points that it should be Voith-ed.
I can only say that it is not based in Woodland Int or Yishun int, or i would had caught it by now after 2 yrs
Thanks a lot![]()
To correct you, the check digit for TIB1024 is H not C. Hence it is TIB1024H.Originally posted by mercedes_hispano:Can anyone kindly tell me why TIB 1024 C is such a special bus? By right, it should be a Habit (TIB 1019 Z to TIB 1023 K) are, and so is TIB 1025. But TIB 1024 C seems like and is a Volgren, and a special Volgren at that. The windows near the front of the bus are not so low, unlike the more common Bendy Volgrens which we see now. Anyway, I think that it is the first bendy bus to be using the Voith Gearbox, not until the later, newer Habits joined the fleet. I last saw it on Service 913, I took it at night and the driver made some noise about me not getting off the bus, heehee.![]()
TIB 1050 G is the first Habit I took. I took it on the free ride on the day Tibs introduced the Habit buses, i.e. 18 June 2000.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Hi , can anyone tell me where TIB1050G is right now? This is crazy the way they do it. I didn't believe ZYX when he said 1025E is the first Habit O405G. So the TIB 1019Z - 1023K Habits are about 2 years old now?Originally posted by AntiDennisLance:To correct you, the check digit for TIB1024 is H not C. Hence it is TIB1024H.
So you are asking why TIB1024H is sandwiched between the Habits? It went like this. The first Habit was TIB1025E not TIB1019Z. The numbers TIB1019Z to TIB1024H was left empty for a while. TIB1024H was TIB's Volgren Bendy prototype, and it came into play at about the same time as the TIB1041H - TIB1057M batch. As for why they slotted that Volgren into TIB1024H, I have no idea, but I guess TIB1019Z to TIB1024H regos was initially reserved for a few more Volgren bodied Dennis Lance 245's. However they kind of realised the Dennis Lance sucked big time so decided not to proceed with the Lance orders (thank heavens!). The TIB1019Z to TIB1023K habits were registered at the same time as the TIB1103M to TIB1120M habit batch, after they confirmed that they no longer needed that few rego's for any more Lances. Hence the Habits of TIB1019Z to TIB1023K are actually NEWER than the first TIB1025E batch, having about the same age as the TIB111X batch.
Between one to two years old I guess. I couldnt remember the exact date these 5 habits came into service, but it was AFTER service 851 was transferred back to AMKDEP from WDLDEP, and just slightly AFTER svc 106 was handed to TIBS from SBS.Originally posted by SBS9818A:This is crazy the way they do it. I can confirm TIB1022 has a Voith gearbox like the other early 10xx series Habits AFAIK. However, I thought 11xx series Habits are all ZF? (1090 1100 1112 1117 1123 1134 1135 1138 1140 1166 1174 1199 1205 1206 are the ones which I had taken recently and confirmed they are ZF.)Originally posted by AntiDennisLance:To correct you, the check digit for TIB1024 is H not C. This one is very confusing. The Habits and Volgrens seem to have no fixed gearbox. I know the later Volgrens (118x - 1197) have Voiths.Originally posted by SBS9819Y:I can confirm TIB1022 has a Voith gearbox like the other early 10xx series Habits AFAIK. It is very confusing. Wonder why TIBS want to have this wierd arrangement. A better-tuned ZF4HP500, maybe?Originally posted by BluBlur:TIB1024H, 1025E-1060C, 1062Y, 1188T-1197S: Voith

The ZF gearbox in the later batches (1147/8 onwards) switches more quickly. Anyone notices the difference?
Yes, but only a fraction faster, like TIB1160Y that switches less than 3secs after moving compared with TIB1019Z.Originally posted by BluBlur:TIB1024H, 1025E-1060C, 1062Y, 1188T-1197S: Voith

Well, now you know!Originally posted by Ting83:very funny, i never know ppl bothered to look at bus license plate
Well, even if you don't take note of bus license plates like we did, you should say for example, when the bus driver is rude or say the bus a/c malfunctioned. This way the bus company could identify it easily. So it's not that funny though.Originally posted by Ting83:very funny, i never know ppl bothered to look at bus license plate

Exactly! Coz I noticed the bus licence no. plate, I managed to help my friend successfully retrieve his bag left behind the bus few yrs back!Originally posted by off_service:Hi Ting83,
To add on to what "Superbus" had said, remembering the license plate of the bus is especially important if you are very sure you have misplaced something on the bus. If you are able to contact the company straight away, it is easier for them to contact the bus captain / service captain (Tibs) or the interchange the bus is terminating at to see if they can retrieve the item.
True. If you misplace your belongings you will be able to notify the relevant interchange, and ask them to check if they have found what you have lost. That would not have been possible without the number plate.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Exactly!
