Did I tell you that TIB678C driver overtook TIB972 on svc 965 that day? The driver was damn behind schedule and I enjoyed the stunned expression of that 0405 driver when he saw the dutch overtake that deutch easily....The Deutch never caught up...Originally posted by SBS9818A:The 12 m long Dutch bus leaves a lot more to be desired. Imagine it struggling along Lentor when O405s and Lance 211s overtake. Haha..
DAFs can really go fast. It is just a matter of whether the service captain want to go fast and of course, not forgetting to give credit to the 60km/h limit imposed.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Did I tell you that TIB678C driver overtook TIB972 on svc 965 that day? Obviously the German never caught up as he was either going to turn into SLE or go straight up Yishun Ave 2. According to a Sv. 927 service captain DAFs are not primarily designed for Singapore roads, ie start-stop conditions, but more for rural service, where one stop is 15 mins away. Wonder why TIBS brought new DAFs in considering they trashed the earlier ones after 3-4 years of service.Originally posted by off_service:DAFs can really go fast. Because they are good buses, that's why.....isn't it damnably obvious??Originally posted by SBS9818A:According to a Sv. 927 service captain DAFs are not primarily designed for Singapore roads, ie start-stop conditions, but more for rural service, where one stop is 15 mins away. Good buses, good pieces of shit ah?Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Because they are good buses, that's why.....isn't it damnably obvious??
The DAFs are rather fuel efficient and the exhaust is rather clean, hence the mainataince is lower than some buses, like the LAnces that i severely doubt its Euro-2 acheivement....look at the black exhaust whenever it moves!
Perhaps the TIBS SB220 are a newer and improved version over the CSS ones? Moreover the Sentanta body, though hideous, is comparably low floored and age better than the Hispanos, look at the condition of the CSS DAFs and u know what i mean......just like Volvo has B10Ms Mk II, III and IVs.
Sorry to say Darryl , but you are on your own planet . Only you will say Lance 211 is a much better bus .Originally posted by SBS9818A:Good buses, good pieces of shit ah?Lance 211s are much better. Your hate of them just blinds you. Go study F Maths lah!

Just like you are too. You seem to love saying N113CRBs suck, don't you? Pot calling the kettle black.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Sorry to say Darryl , but you are on your own planet . Only you will say Lance 211 is a much better bus .
It seems that the majority are in favour of scraping the Lance 211s though.....some are passable, but some just could not perform up to expectations, especially it IS the second NEWEST normal single deck bus in TIBS fleet.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Good buses, good pieces of shit ah?Lance 211s are much better. Yah. But DAFs are insipid and slow pieces of crud.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:It seems that the majority are in favour of scraping the Lance 211s though.....some are passable, but some just could not perform up to expectations, especially it IS the second NEWEST normal single deck bus in TIBS fleet.
Face it, unless some person got touch-deficiency problem, the rear seat of DAFs is much cooler , resonates much less and much quieter than that of a Lance 211.![]()
Well... ya know... These dutch dudes are suitable for coutryside usage, and TIBS governed them, and therefore they would be rather slow.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yah. But DAFs are insipid and slow pieces of crud.![]()
