Yes. I remember seeing Sv. 190 2-axle VOs passing by my dad's car on the BKE every minute or so going in the opposite direction, filled with passengers each time. When TIBS took over Sv. 190 I clearly remember they could not cope with the load and had to send an O405G out together with an O405 trailing one min later, and after 4 mins the cycle repeats.Originally posted by off_service:I suppose service 190 is the fastest trunk service in terms of frequency, in both peak and non-peak hours?
SBS or Tibs era?Originally posted by off_service:I suppose service 190 is the fastest trunk service in terms of frequency, in both peak and non-peak hours?
Both.Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:SBS or Tibs era?
Yes, as the load would be too insane. Even during SBS times Sv. 190 would have a 2-axle VO out every two minutes or so to cope with the load. If I remember clearly Sv. 190 was almost entirely full fleet of VO2X, with occasional O405s or B10Ms. Once the service went to TIBS these VOs went to Sv. 74 and HGDEP I speculate.Originally posted by off_service:Both.
Normally 2 Bendies will be out within 4 to 5 minutes between each other. Like what SBS 9818 A says, there will be a O405 bus after each Bendy.
From what you've said, service 190 is similar to service 74 in terms of fleet, more NAC buses compare to AC buses when it's under SBST.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yes, as the load would be too insane. I agree with your opinion. Also, with the introduction of service 119, which uses a number of Superbuses which are left running empty during off peak hours. If service 119 don't exist, I think the Superbuses should be staying put on service 74.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:I think the problem lies in the fact that SBST is responding to the commuter's concern too readily....pple complained about too few a/c buses, and SBST put a lot of A/C on 74, anyway it had to shift those VO 2 Ax to SLBP anyway. However, I think that they had too few DD ACs to go around, that's why now a lot of Volvo single decks, and a lot of pple could not get on board in the morning as a result.
Can't remember 3-axle LOs on Sv. 190, only the 2-axle VOs.Originally posted by off_service:From what you've said, service 190 is similar to service 74 in terms of fleet, more NAC buses compare to AC buses when it's under SBST.
Are there many LO 3 axles on service 190, before it became fully aircon?
If my memory serves me correctly, Service 190 is one of the pioneers to operate the later batch (SBS91XX) LO 3-axles.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Can't remember 3-axle LOs on Sv. 190, only the 2-axle VOs.
OK. I oddly enough only remember 2-axle VOs.Originally posted by Superbus:If my memory serves me correctly, Service 190 is one of the pioneers to operate the later batch (SBS91XX) LO 3-axles.

Today's frequency is within normal range, and i saw only Volvo 3-AX first generation today......freq abt 7 mins at 9+am and 8mins at 3Originally posted by bendy2003:Can anybody comment on the fleet and frequency of svc 74 today?
I saw a number of ac double deckers going towards buona vista at ard mid noon today and the frequency seem quite okay.
Since when did 190 have O405s? I only knew there were 2 Mk4s DM 3500 towards the end of SBS 190 service (SBS2784 and SBS2785), 2 or 3 Mk4s WA and 1 or 2 AC Mk2. Rest of SD all Mk3s.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yes, as the load would be too insane. Even during SBS times Sv. 190 would have a 2-axle VO out every two minutes or so to cope with the load. Today at Hougang Ave 2 I saw THREE Sv. 74 buses arriving together, 7205, 1733, 1710. The latter two were less than half-empty. What a waste of resources.Originally posted by bendy2003:Can anybody comment on the fleet and frequency of svc 74 today?

I don't think sv 190 had O405s. Not much impression of single deckers. Many memories of LO 3 axles, VO 2 axles and Atlanteans though.Originally posted by SBS9816E:Yep. Sv 190 did have Lo 3 Axle... Did Sv 190 has MB O.405? I can't remember much abt it...

I agree. After service 119 was introduced, the at-first-alrite servuce 74 fleet suffered as a result of service 119 getting VO 3 axles and make some money losing trips.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Easier said than done....
People had complained abt svc 989.........and TIBS merely put an extra svc "985A" there for show that did not even alleviate the situation a bit.......and put up such a good publicity stunt that Patsie Tan also got commended in the Straits Times abt it....
Complain to minister.....much more effective, but then steps are taken only to show off in front of the public as a token.......now we have empty VO3-ax running on svc 119 most of time and sacrificing a high load svc 74 by replacing the DDs with SDs and causing chaos in the morning peak....
Even if one complains, it is quite difficult to make them improve their service.....most of the time one will be served with a "standard letter of appreciation" and do something that does not improve the overall picture a bit.
svc 74 load is mainly students, and FYI, SBST and TIBS have a very nasty habit of preferring not to listen to students' opinions, and they would rather improve a service that has mainly adults taking it cos they are raking in more money......and Svc 119 is mainly for show!
But Sv. 119 isn't making more money. It runs empty 3/4 of the time, obviously just for showing off. We know SBST very well, don't we? SBST have a bone of contention to pick with services with majority students. Sometimes I'd rather TIBS operate in Bishan.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Easier said than done....

Huh?! Lousy buses? I don't think how lousy it could get. Those buses used are rather okay. In my opinion, students like them don't really care what kind of buses they are boarding. They just think that:" If the bus can just bring to me to my school, I am contented with it."Originally posted by off_service:I agree. If anyone noticed it, services with many students will get lousier buses compare to those high class routes and of course, those packed with working classes.
Sv. 119 should have been a peak-hour service from the start.Originally posted by SBS9816E:Huh?! Lousy buses? I don't think how lousy it could get. Those buses used are rather okay. Also, Sv 119's VO 3 Axle could sometimes lose one to three of them to other svcs, and single-deck come in as replacement, esp non-peak hours. I think SBST is now aware of the situation, but at a rather gradual stage.
They like it what. What to do?Originally posted by PT21:
Yes , SBS alway deploy DD on service with low demand, and deploy SD on service with high demand. They just want to make the passenger suffer with the crowds, standing all the way. That simple as that.
I think SBS is very lao kan.
come on Wake up, look at the situation and deploy DD abd SD wisely. Don't waste resources.
