So unlike 74 when the buses will almost always be filled to the brim in the morning by the time the bus reaches MacRitchie... And can someone enlighten me why there are so many VSOs in operation on service 25? It's not as if it's some special kind of service right... Think 74 deserves better buses lorz...
Those buses you saw at Ang Mo Kio are short trips from Ang Mo Kio station to Hougang Central. This is to ease the load of other service 74 buses from Buona Vista.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:ok thanx, maybe they could consider transferring the tridents of 165 to 74 as well... then also, i thought 74 also has some buses based at the AMKDEP? Sometimes empty 74 buses will enter the route from AMK MRT to Hougang Central interchange during peak hours...
Actually any idea why 25 is a high-class route? It duplicates the route of 74, 132, 165 from AMK to Bowen Sec and then most of the route of 854 from Bowen Sec to Bedok... Also duplicates 55 for quite a considerable stretch from somewhere in AMK to around Eunos too...
I believe Hougang Depot does not have enough single deckers for service 165. I agree with you, I would rather they replace the single deckers on service 74 with the service 165 VO 3 axles. I think SBST deployed so many VO 3 axles on service 165 as they want to make it to a fully aircon service. As we all know, most of the VO 2 axles are with Jurong Industrial Services. I wonder why not service 74.Originally posted by PT21:
Hi, I thk that service 165 should not get DD, because it is a low demand service.
Well, everytime when i saw service 165, the DD bus is quite empty. About less than 15 pax. Sometime the upper deck is totally empty at all.
I think it is a waste of resources, and somemore, SBST still deploy Trident on this service, isn't it a waste. Why don't deploy it on some other service like service 147 or 166 as the number of single deck on these service are getting more and more. Especially during peak hours, I can't even get on the SD of service 147 and the freq is very long . Thoses who deploy buses got no brain at all. Never think, Still old fashioned especially now is in the 21st century...
Not only that. Service 111 takes a more direct route to Orchard compared to service 502. Service 502 should be converted to trunk service. Also the demand is very low.Originally posted by PT21:
No, BBDep have lot of Single deck, You see, service 198,99 and some other service of clementi int, use lot of SD now a days. But one thing is, these services are high demand service, especially during peak hrs. Every trip is full. Can't even board. How?
One more thing, I would say why don't service 165 being extend to JE Int, as there is no direct bus service to Macritchie Reservoir or Mediacorp, AMK or Hougang. If Service 165 is being extend to JE, definitely there are more passengers compared to now and JE int is big enough to accommodate lot of buses compare to the tiny Clementi Int. (always Jam at the bus bay).
Lastly, one more sugguestion, if Service 111 being extended to Boon Lay Int, and Express 502 being withdrawn, because now express 502 buses are very lously, no more VOs, VSOs or Trident. Whole fleets being controlled by SLdep . If svc111 being extended to cover the entire route of 502. It is better and the fare frm Boon Lay to Orchard Rd is much cheaper than 502,Some more the buses are much better than 502 rather than paying high fare on 502 using O405 buses. Sucks
erm 51 goes from JE to hougang south, but still it's one hell of a ride...it's the longest bus route in singapore...Originally posted by PT21:

It is precisely the fact it overlaps Sv. 854 route that makes it so "high-class". It duplicates Sv. 55 from AMK Ave 10 all the way to Sims Ave, and so to show-off to Sv. 854 pax, SBST deploy new buses on the service to "entice" people to get on Sv. 25, although for me I'd rather take a fast and smooth O405G on Sv. 854 than a noisy, sluggish B10TL on Sv. 25..Originally posted by foxtrot1985:ok thanx, maybe they could consider transferring the tridents of 165 to 74 as well... then also, i thought 74 also has some buses based at the AMKDEP? Why don't you go do the job then? I tell you, if you take up the job, with passengers like you, you will have one hell of a hard time trying to solve their problems and EVEN creating new problems from the old mess.Originally posted by PT21:

Sv. 74 got lots of STUDENTS mahz. Same for Sv. 88, O405s packed to the brim, and they used Sv. 88 as their trump card for Sengkang residents (Sv. 88 was first SBST service into then TIBS-controlled Sengkang)Originally posted by off_service:I believe Hougang Depot does not have enough single deckers for service 165. I wouldn't say O405s and 3-axle LOs are lousy buses, only they get boring after some period of time. For Sv. 111 to be extended would be no solution to the parking woes of Boon Lay Int. I really think the interchange should expand to include the field adjacent to it, or even better, build Singapore's first multi-storey bus interchange.Originally posted by PT21:
