Sv. 90 was from C'wealth Dr to Paya Lebar Airport. It was the first route to receive the then brand new Hawke bodied Mercedes OF1417s. I don't know its route details, though.Originally posted by Yusry:Could you elaborate on their routes and locations? Especially where Princess Elizabeth and Prince Edward terminals are? And on services 90 and 209.Thanks.
Thanks for the corrections. But I'm affirmative that Service 63 terminated at Bukit Merah. It was introduced before Service 62 was cutback to New Bridge Road. Because I remember taking Service 50 and then transfering to Service 63 at Bukit Merah when Service 63 was first introduced.Originally posted by tranquilice:Some corrections to mention here:
I don't think service 122 ever terminate at Clementi interchange. Service 122 first plied between St. Michael's and Bt Batok, then it was cut short to ply between St. Michael's and Buona Vista, finally it was withdrawn.
Service 123 plied between St. Michael's and loop outside New Bridge Rd terminal (like former CSS 607). Then it was amended to the current route.
Service 125 at first plied between St. Michael's and Bt Merah, then it was cut short to Shenton Way when service 131 was extended from Shenton Way to Bt Merah, covering service 125 route.
Service 131 was extended to Bt Merah from Shenton Way, it did not terminate at WTC terminal at all.
Service 1 terminated at Somapah terminal (If I'm not wrong)
Service 63 did not terminate at Bt Merah interchange. I remembered when service 62 was cut short to New Bridge Rd, service 63 was introduced to ply between Rumah Tinggi and MacPherson estate
No. Somapah was where Singapore Expo is now.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I think that's Somapah Terminal, isn't it not?
That, I don't know.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Was there a bus terminal at Paya Lebar Airport, when it was used for civilian aircrafts, like Changi Airport PTB?
I even sat on one at that time...Originally posted by AntiDennisLance:Bendys were NEVER used on 865. Only 864 had a couple of bendys (TIB886T, TIB887R)

This is the best that I could rememberOriginally posted by pkchukiss:Can someone send me the route for 122 in the 1990s? I am quite nostalgic about it because my mom used to bring me to this temple somewhere (I was only about 6 years old then).
From Clementi, same as the current Service 14 until Orchard Road, then same as current Service 65 till MacPherson Road and same as current Service 90 till Paya Lebar Airport and loop.Originally posted by pkchukiss:Also, if I am not wrong, there was a bus service 92 passing through my area (Bendemeer) in the 1990s also. Does anyone have information on that too?
Sv. 1 terminated at Changi Village but stopped at Somapah to refuel.Originally posted by Yusry:Thanks for the corrections. But I'm affirmative that Service 63 terminated at Bukit Merah. As for Service 1, it could have started with Somapah as it's termination point, but it did go to Changi Village as it was the bus I would take there from my place in Eunos besides Service 2.
If I'm not wrong, when service 62 was still operating between Hougang South and Rumah Tinnggi, service 63 did not exist. Service 63 was introduced in 1993 to operate between Rumah Tinggi and MacPherson Estate when service 62 was cut short to New Bridge Rd.Originally posted by Yusry:Thanks for the corrections. Service 95 operated between Serangoon and Clementi interchanges in the 1980s, the route between Toa Payoh and Clementi is the same as service 105 before amendment to Queensway and C'wealth Ave in 1993. (ie. Plied Ulu Pandan Rd and Clementi Rd). Route between Toa Payoh and Serangoon unknown, most probably plied Lor Chuan as Bishan is still developing then.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Was there a bus terminal at Paya Lebar Airport, when it was used for civilian aircrafts, like Changi Airport PTB?
Buses to Paya Lebar Airport have always used number 9x.
90 C'wealth Dr. Now go to Toa Payoh.
91 Don't know. Now Buona Vista - Ayer Rajah Cres
92 Clementi. Now become new number for former sv. M1.
93 WTC
94 Robinson Rd? Now go to Eunos.
95 Cannot recall. Now Buona Vista - NUH/NUS
Yes, I have the 1988 street directory. I dunno the name of this terminal near Changi Prison but my guess is Yan Kit terminal as there's a Yan Kit village nearby. Or maybe it's simply known as Upp Changi Rd North terminal? Service 81 terminated here before relocated to Tampines.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:You're right! There was also a bus terminal marked at Sembawang Rd, near Jln Ulu Seletar. Any re-collections?
I remember Sv. 105 used to ply Bishan Rd, and Sv. 104 Lor Chuan, but switched routes from S'goon Int to Braddell in 1992 or so.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 95 operated between Serangoon and Clementi interchanges in the 1980s, the route between Toa Payoh and Clementi is the same as service 105 before amendment to Queensway and C'wealth Ave in 1993. How the current service 95 and service 105 came about, I have no idea.
I would prefer service 105 to ply Bishan, although the journey is made longer but double deckers can be used.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I remember Sv. 105 used to ply Bishan Rd, and Sv. 104 Lor Chuan, but switched routes from S'goon Int to Braddell in 1992 or so.
That is one bus terminal you missed out in your list of lost bus terminals/interchanges. It was called Upp. Thomson Terminal and was used solely by svc 171, which terminated there after coming from the city via the zoo. Do not confuse this terminal with the Old Upp. Thomson Terminal which held the very old, defunct svc 71.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:There was also a bus terminal marked at Sembawang Rd, near Jln Ulu Seletar. Or maybe it was Tampines Rd Terminal. I have an old photo of an ABS Mercedes LP1113 taken circa 1970. It was doing rt. 81 and the desto showed Tampines Rd.Originally posted by tranquilice:Yes, I have the 1988 street directory. The current sv. 95 came about in 1990 to provide a link between NUH and Buona Vista MRT. If I'm not wrong, it started out as a flat-fare service.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 95 operated between Serangoon and Clementi interchanges in the 1980s, the route between Toa Payoh and Clementi is the same as service 105 before amendment to Queensway and C'wealth Ave in 1993. Old Upper Thomson Terminal near Jln Leban right? And Upp. Thomson Terminal at Springleaf(?) area?Originally posted by AntiDennisLance:That is one bus terminal you missed out in your list of lost bus terminals/interchanges. Later that terminal was scrapped (both were, actually) and 171 was brought forward to Yishun which later on, very much unfortunately was makan'ed by TIBS when SBS was forced to hand over certain treasures at gunpoint. Otherwise the north will have one more SBS service providing competition.
The location of Upp. Thomson Terminal is currently within the expanded premises of Nee Soon Camp.
Old Upp Thomson terminal was located near the junction of Yio Chu Kang Rd and Upp Thomson Rd. Now converted to a roadside parking lots.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Old Upper Thomson Terminal near Jln Leban right? And Upp. Thomson Terminal at Springleaf(?) area?
Oh. I had always suspected there was a bus terminal at Casurina Rd, judging from the way the parking lots were built, they seemed to fit the contours of the road.Originally posted by tranquilice:Old Upp Thomson terminal was located near the junction of Yio Chu Kang Rd and Upp Thomson Rd. Upp Thomson terminal was located along Sembawang Rd, near Jln Ulu Seletar and opposite Ahmad Ibrahim mosque.
There was once a bus terminal at Ulu Pandan Rd, just before the junction with Clementi Rd. There is a kink in the road which looks like a long bus bay. This was where the buses used to park. Now it is a taxi stand. Sv. 61 used to end here. There used to be a Scheme B version of sv. 61. This bus continued to stop here after the then SBS sv. 61 was extended to Bt Batok.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Oh. Yes, I remember, near the seafood restaurant. Yes, the road seems to curve in. Now it's no longer in use and has been converted back to a normal road but the dirty green lamp post is still around.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:There was once a bus terminal at Ulu Pandan Rd, just before the junction with Clementi Rd.
