Hi Bros,
I would like to propose something. Our very own Treasure Hunt!...Remember the STC bus I mentioned in the earlier thread, i.e. STC10 Nissan Diesel in orig form Green outlook with green interior. I spotted this bus at LTA for at least 2-3 months, then it disappeared....Wanna find out where it went to?...Anybody knows of its whereabouts?
I know of several old goods buses with orig plates still in existence in SG but not road-worthy though..... -

Hi Darryl, Thanx for the info. After years of unknown existence, it was scrapped....BTW whats an LO?...Its a pity it went to scrap....I know of only two other OLD Singapore vehicles in existence. One is very near my place at Yew Tee. Want me to show you?....You'll definitely won't be disappointed...Its an SGA plate pickup with wooden frame and old Chinese characters.....like in old Singapore! -

Could you bring me to this Defu scrapyard? Over here at Sg Kadut, there aren't any large vehicles being scrapped....

The Leyland Victories were re-built around 1986. At this period, SBS was experimenting with several models of a/c buses. This was an experiment to see if it was feasible to convert old buses into a/c buses. Another reason was that the Leyland Victory as with all other Soon Chow clad buses before 1978 were starting to fall apart. Hence, they were re-fitted with a newer Soon Chow body, as with the case of the OF1417 and Albion Viking (long version). But many Victory still retain the old body (the one with grooved sides) until retirement. They were last used for the Toa Payoh feeder services. -
Was PH1083 blue in colour and had the letters "HP" displayed at its desto? If yes, that bus was an Albion/Leyland Viking. It can be confusing because it had the front wheels of a Viking but the rear wheels of the Victory. It was COOL!! It was a Viking with Victory wheels! Usually the Vikings retrofit the wheels with Bedford ones...Don't look pleasant at all! My ideal bus is similar to that bus. A long-bodied Alexander (similar design as TIBS DAF)Viking with Victory/Atlantean wheels and low profile tyres! COOL!!

That reminds me. There was such a bus (Viking with Bedford front wheels) that used to park within the compounds of my former school, C'wealth Sec. (The school building is now Jurongville Sec). The entrance door was panelled up, leaving only the exit door in the middle. I thought it funny to have a Bedford bus with Viking rear wheels until the Albion badge and curved gearstick gave it away.
