It's not split into two. It is more-or-less the previous arrangement, one bus terminated at City Square, the other at Larkin.Originally posted by th1988:Service 170 has been spilted into 2 services in JB.
The red plate buses will terminate at Larkin Terminal with using the road outside the major hospital called Tun Aminah.
The blue plate buses will terminate at JB City Terminal with using a road called Jalan xxx.
Return rt remain unchanged
The admendment takes immediate effect from today.
But SBS Transit was required by the Malaysian authorities to re-route the service...Originally posted by Superbus:I welcome this new arrangement. Makes travelling to JB better with the new alternate service terminating points.
With this, our previous thoughts that the changes to Service 170 was of JB's interest, is indeed wrong.
Yes, that's right. But see it from another point of view. The diversion is inevitable, as we know that it is to facilitate the construction of the new CIQ Building/Causeway Bridge.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:But SBS Transit was required by the Malaysian authorities to re-route the service...

CW1 frequency is quite OK, the service is earning money, quite full most of the time.Originally posted by th1988:Maybe they want CW1 to complete with 170 after all.
CW1 frequency is very bad, 4-5 170 buses must pass through before a CW1 bus arrive at the checkpoint.
I heard Handal Indah actually want to introduce a express service to Queen Street to complete with SJE. Is there any news of that?
The overall frequency is OK. The situation is reversed at times. I have waited for 170 at Woodlands CIQ once while 3 CW1 buses pass by. Couldn't blame them though as the buses will wait to be full before moving off, hence maximizing revenue. One thing I like about Causeway Link is that they provide coin exchange at Kranji. A good move to swing passengers their way. People tend to board the first bus they see and there is always a CW1 bus waiting at Kranji.Originally posted by th1988:Maybe they want CW1 to complete with 170 after all.

Yes, we are still waiting for our dear friends at the MoT to approve launch of CW2..Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The overall frequency is OK. The situation is reversed at times. Handal Indah have already prepared for the express service, CW2. There is already a berth for it at Larkin and Kota Raya while the buses are ready to be deployed. I think it is still waiting for the Singapore authorities to give the go ahead.
