They didn't propose. of course they won't be happy... Though i suppose they could have put up a greater resistance by arguing that SBS Transit has already got some bus services duplicating the East-West line or by calling for 103 to be amended in the 1st phase instead of their 106.

They cannot override TransitLink. Yesterday, I saw 107 having ADDs. While the no of buses at 82 have lessen, has that got to do with making pax to get used to taking 107 from city area.

i sat it at around 6pm towards hougang central from suntec city.. the load wasn't fantastic between suntec and lavender MRT, and s'goon and hougang central (this is probably due to the route being too new).. but between lavender MRT and s'goon it's ideal.. my ideal means at least 11 people were on board for most of the stretch.. tat, according to a report on costs of maintaining a bus service many yrs ago on ST, says , as a benchmark, Mercedes O405 use a litre of diesel for 2km and most impt-ly, they need on the average 11 people using a bus for it to be profitable..
as for the VO that i saw travelling in the opposite direction at that time, it seems veri empty, probably because it jus left Lavender St on its way to Jln Sultan and suntec city.. -

103 SERANGOON INTERCHANGE to SELETAR EAST / WEST CAMP
103: Serangoon Int - Seletar East Camp 103W: Serangoon Int - Seletar West Camp
Service 103W will only operate at certain times of the day. The operating hours are the same as service 379.
Service 103 have frequency of up to 20 minutes during off-peak hours. -

It operates in the morning on weekdays. I've seen one empty 107A heading towards S'goon Int @0705 hrs and another one in operation going downtown at Woodsville Flyover. -

It seems like SBST find Marina Centre an alternative of Shenton Way on weekends. I think they didnt want their services to run on empty in Shenton Way on weekends. Hence there's weekend services to Marina Centre

Yes, New Bridge Rd is quite isolated now. Or they can follow bus 36 loop at tomlinson road . What's up with SBST's thinking . I have doubts with their ability of handling both NEL and Bus operations .

They done it with svc 401 already. I agree that they are a bit over-taxed with the handling of both modes of operation as it is one company with different divisions, while SMRT is still a company on its own, TIBS is just aggluminated in name, hence SMRT corp service can tend to be rather misleading and poor sometimes.
However, at least SBST still manages to keep up with its bus operations rather well, especially the feeder services it serves. I am rather impressed by how it routes its services in the area it serves, and if its in TIBS case, they would rather place one overtaxed service there and cite "duplication" as a reason, and i hope that this is one point that SBST can keep it up.
Rail service is rather lacklustre......considering the frequency of trains, but i feel that sometimes its reasonable considering the loads ( Anyone seen a fully packed train on the NEL right to the doors ? ) , but it would be better if placed in the hands of SMRT because of experience.

103W seems to have a long waiitng time. so much so i gave up only to find out that if i had waited for 3 more buses i would have gotten it.
103W: well the freq i guess is 30 mins...guess its not fun to go Seletar airport now...
82: the bus purposely makes this big round in punggol but go where? it odes not go int nor the Punggols tn. maybe to serve those new flats coming up in the "west" side of punggol new town.
as a result i ahd to transfer onto another bus just to travel some one stop to int. ( i ahve concession passso did not btoehr to walk)
62: too bad it does not go chiantown but is liekly to be the choice service 4 Punggol folks going to Hougang central fast. it uses the most direct route using the back side of SK new town.

Took service 82 yesterday Sunday 7.12.03 around 5 plus from Serangoon Interchange to Punggol.
Load factors not really that good...there were more passengers between Hougang and Punggol Road/Sengkang.
Noticed that there were few commuters who were unaware of the amendments to Service 82...they still thought 82 still plies to Shenton Way via Bendemeer Rd...a few of them wanted to go Bendemeer and were at a lost when the bus turned into Serangoon Central..there were some Indian workers who looked pretty lost and blur over the bus amendments...
Journey time from Serangoon to Punggol is around 37 minutes...total journey time is around 75 minutes...the bus driver was driving pretty slowly...the other bus actually managed to catch up with the bus I was on.
Btw...82 now uses the 405 and Scanias CAC...below is the list of buses which I've noted..
There are usually 4 or 5 buses parked in Serangoon Interchange at one time.
SBS 426G, SBS 160Y, SBS 3671U, SBS 259Y, SBS 177A, SBS 354E, SBS 382Z, SBS 170T, SBS 3673P, SBS 541G, SBS 554U, SBS 529T, SBS 346D
Service 62...i only saw one double decker...should be a VO3...still uses buses in the 900 series..939T, 945A, 957B
Service 103 still uses 505L, 486H..saw 241S and 268S on this service too. -
Is it possible for the public to enter the 2 Seletar Camps without security checks? Can anyone verify this? I'd wish to take 103 and travel inside the camps..
