Guess PTC would not allow SBST to start the service, with SBST unwilling to even do so. Why? NEL. If Hougang Central - HarbourFront service is allowed, service 85 would not had been withdrawn.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 97 which plys between Jurong East and Marina Centre, service 107 which plys between Hougang Central and Shenton Way/Marina Centre, and Express 507 which plys between Boon Lay and Shenton Way, should be merged into one serviceHougang Central - Boon Lay.
The new service will bring back the link of former service 97 route between Hougang Central and HarbourFront, AYE and Jurong East.
Route via service 107 route to Shenton Way, then follow by service 97 route to Jurong East Central, finally follow by service 507 route to Boon Lay. Marina Centre, Toh Guan and Jurong East interchange will be skipped.
While service 85 duplicates most of the NEL, the proposed service duplicates the NEL between Hougang and Potong Pasir only, and also not many passengers take the NEL to HarbourFront.Originally posted by off_service:Guess PTC would not allow SBST to start the service, with SBST unwilling to even do so. SBST will say, "cannot, cannot, it duplicates my NEL for 5 stops, I will lose revenue".Originally posted by tranquilice:While service 85 duplicates most of the NEL, the proposed service duplicates the NEL between Hougang and Potong Pasir only, and also not many passengers take the NEL to HarbourFront.
But service 147 duplicates NEL for 9 stops! (ie. Serangoon, Potong Pasir, Boon Keng, Farrer Park, Little India, Dhoby Ghaut, Clarke Quay, Chinatown and Outram Park). And up to now, SBST has no plan of amending it.Originally posted by SBS9818A:SBST will say, "cannot, cannot, it duplicates my NEL for 5 stops, I will lose revenue".
They had originally planned to amend Sv. 147 but decided to keep it because they apparently need a service to cover NEL route, so commuters won't complain. They would have loved to cut Sv. 147 Clementi - New Bridge Rd Ter.Originally posted by tranquilice:But service 147 duplicates NEL for 9 stops! (ie. Then why withdrawn service 85?Originally posted by SBS9818A:They had originally planned to amend Sv. 147 but decided to keep it because they apparently need a service to cover NEL route, so commuters won't complain. They would have loved to cut Sv. 147 Clementi - New Bridge Rd Ter.
Well, in NEL's case, one service is enough to complement the NEL. Since service 85 duplicates a large section of NEL, they have a good reason to withdraw it from service. If NEL were to be operated by SMRT, service 85 would have been retained, just like Service 2 and EWL.Originally posted by tranquilice:Then why withdrawn service 85?
Yes, if NEL were SMRT-operated, Sv. 85 would still be Sv. 865 what.Originally posted by Superbus:Well, in NEL's case, one service is enough to complement the NEL. Fortunately CCL will be operated by SMRT, else SBST may withdrawn more services.Originally posted by Superbus:Well, in NEL's case, one service is enough to complement the NEL. This is not implemented by SBST, you can blame Transitlink.Originally posted by tranquilice:Fortunately CCL will be operated by SMRT, else SBST may withdrawn more services.
However, SBST mentioned that in total, it withdrawn 37 services and amended 82 services when EWL and NSL are fully operational.
Does anyone have any idea what were the routes that were withdrawn/amended and where do they serve?Originally posted by tranquilice:Fortunately CCL will be operated by SMRT, else SBST may withdrawn more services.

I know one route was express from TPY - Shenton Way, forgot the route number. Sv. 150 (TPY - Crawfurd St), and another service TPY - Orchard were withdrawn.Originally posted by service_238:Does anyone have any idea what were the routes that were withdrawn/amended and where do they serve?
