They're extict in Jurong East and are now rare sight in Boon Lay. I still see 1 or 2 buses occasionally. 6999 is one of them. In fact, I just saw it 2 days ago.Originally posted by off_service:Hi all,
I was at Jurong East and Boon Lay yesterday (21 Nov 2003) and saw NO LO 2 axles. There is a possibility that they are either scrapped or sold. Can anyone update on this? Thanks..![]()
No. All 2-axle LOs are destined to be scrapped. This is what a scrapyard owner who deals in them told us.Originally posted by carbikebus:by next year there are no more LO 2 AX to be seen and guessed what, these buses are either scrapped or to be sold in jakarta for their public transport like what i saw quite of numbers of alanteans and 0305's there.
The Atlanteans in Jakarta are not from Singapore. They were bought first-hand in the 70s and 80s. They have the same Metsec bodywork as the Singapore Atlanteans, hence the fairly common misconception. The Singapore Atlanteans were sold to Hong Kong and Shanghai. I don't know about O305s but there are a large number of Volvo-Ailsas in Jakarta too.Originally posted by carbikebus:by next year there are no more LO 2 AX to be seen and guessed what, these buses are either scrapped or to be sold in jakarta for their public transport like what i saw quite of numbers of alanteans and 0305's there.
I see. But I recall reading an article which states there is some ex-SBS Metsec '2' Atlanteans being bought and put into service in Jakarta. But I agree, there couldn't be any ex-SBS O305s in Jakarta. Very unlikely.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The Atlanteans in Jakarta are not from Singapore. Yes, lots of B55s are in Jakarta. So the Atlanteans are not ex-Singapore buses as many of us thought?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The Atlanteans in Jakarta are not from Singapore. I spotted 3 NAC Olympians at Boon Lay this morning. 2 of them were 7164 and 7138. Numbers are dwindling down fast as the NAC VOs are seen more regularly on 182, 192 & 193.
