At around 1600h @ 19th December 2003, I noticed a TIBS Scania 113 (Strider) at north-bound Sembawang Road with the phrase "ROAD TEST" on it's EDS.
Any idea on what this "ROAD TEST" bus could be doing? Testing the suitability of a new bus route? -
Unlikely. According to some TIBS staffs they said buses, once heavy maintainance is complete, go out on a road test for a final check before bus returns to service. BTW, there is no such word as "staffs". It's just "staff". Same goes for "furniture". -

SBS 9804P STILL on Sv. 56 -
Invasion of Dennis Lances on 804. At least 3 Lance 245s are in service currently. Spotted TIB1011U on 16th. Looks like TIBS is finally acknolodging that these Lances are best on feeders. TIB1163P on 812 some days ago. The horrible 855 dosen't seem to get any better yet. Evening peak freq is horrible and bus load is close to over the limit. They seem to ignore that. Just a guage, 857 had about 5 people at the Lentor stretch while 855 full seated and almost full standing pax. I'm disgusted at the attention TIBS pays to this service.

The problem has been there for a long time. I can remember taking a nearly over capacity 855 during evening peak like months ago. I was on SBS 913 S of Svc 124 @1415 and I adore the driver man. u guys should see him cutting through the jam from somerset rd to orchard turn. Unlike other buses which queue up one behind another and hoping that the bus would move, the driver simply got out of the 'queue', went to the extreme right lane after departing from Somerset MRT bus stop, zoom through the jam and ended up at Orchard Turn in less than 6 min. If the driver were to 'queue' up, it would have taken 2.5 times the journey time.
