  From what i know, Svc 8 plied between Bedok and Shenton Way via Nicoll Highway (express from Changi Rd - Nicoll Highway) in 1979. So, a quick guess of its route is Bedok <-> New Upp Changi Rd <-> Changi Rd/Sims Ave East <-> Geylang Rd/Sims Ave <-> Guillemard Rd <-> Nicoll Highway <-> Connaught Dr/St. Andrews Rd <-> Fullerton Rd/Empress Place <-> Collyer Quay <-> Raffles Quay/Robinson Rd <-> Shenton Way/Anson Rd <-> Shenton Way Terminal.

  Terima kasih Yusry! I only remembered the service plied Bedok South Road/Ave 1 before entering ECP. So in other words, Service 8 then did not ply Republic Boulevard, just like the current Service 36 before entering ECP in the direction towards Bedok?

  Not quite sure what you mean by the above, but on it's return trip, it goes by Bras Basah, Raffles Avenue and Republic Boulevard before entering ECP. The current Service 36, makes a big detour to Suntec city before going to Republic Boulevard.

  The Atlanteans are quite powerful.
  
  When service 30 still had Atlanteans, I had the occasion of riding in a rather packed bus roaring up the east bound slip road, which of course, is not as steep as Republic Boulevard. It was definitely exhilarating - the engine was damn loud and I don't remember it dropping any gear.
