Currently, even the Sv. 54 route duplicates Sv. 56 too. Sv. 54 takes on elements of Sv. 134 from Bishan Int - Thomson Rd, then elements of Sv. 104 from Thomson Rd - New Bridge Rd, except going by Newton Rd, instead of Keng Lee Rd like Sv. 104Originally posted by service_238:Service 134:

Return Journey: exact opposite.
This service was withdrawn in 1993/1994 and was replaced by the current Service 54, partially because it duplicates Service 56 too much i think.

Yes.Originally posted by off_service:A swop of routes?
If this is the case, I would rather them to let service 856 to cover service 857, then to amend service 856 to cover Canberra Rd (former route of service 169) and service 169 to cover Admiralty Rd West (former route of service 856)
In 1980, there was a sv. 188 which terminated at Ulu Pandan Rd but I forgot where it went to (I think it was Prince Edward Rd). The Jurong Inter. - Jurong West St 91 route came in 1988. It was the first service in Jurong West Extension.Originally posted by tranquilice:As far as I know, service 188 plied between former Jurong interchange and Jurong West St 91 (loop service).

Amendment 1:
The junction of Boon Lay Ave & Jln Boon Lay, which had no traffic lights then, was sealed and prohibited motorists from making a right turn. Not really. Sv. 242 was introduced as a feeder bus to Boon Lay Int / MRT, not as a replacement for sv. 188. Svs. 99, 175, 188 and 242 co-existed for some time.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Withdrawn in 1992 and replaced by Sv. 242, am I correct?

Is service 175 the only service there? When service 192 and 254 was introduced to Tuas, did the terminal still exist?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:According to my 1988 Street Directory it was located along Pioneer Rd, near Tuas Fishing Village.
175 had served Tuas since the 1970s. When svs. 192 and 254 were introduced, the terminal was still there. The old route of sv. 254 pass by it. I remember seeing the terminal when I followed my dad to his workplace sometimes. There was just a shelter with 1 or 2 buses parked by the roadside (like Punggol). When the amendment of sv 175 took effect on 7 July 90 (not 1 July, sorry bout that) sv. 192 was also amended to cover the loss of sv 175 between Upp Jurong Rd and Tuas via:-Originally posted by tranquilice:Is service 175 the only service there?
