Saw notice along orhcard bus stops statin the details of amendment of SV174 from 7 Dec. it will ply along chin swee road instead of eu tong sen street.. shd be like this if i remember correctly..

AMENDMENT NOTICE ORIGINAL TEXT:
Starting Sunday, 7 December 2003, Service 174 will be amended to ply along Chin Swee Rd/Outram Rd instead of Eu Tong Sen St/New Bridge Rd.
With the amendment, Service 174 brings bus links closer to Outram Secondary School, flats along Chin Swee Rd, San Centre and Manhattan House.
Route:
towards Boon Lay: New Bridge Rd Terminal, New Bridge Rd, Outram Rd, Chin Swee Rd, Havelock Rd, Eu Tong Sen St and continue via its existing route.
towards New Bridge Rd: from North Bridge Rd onwards, South Bridge Rd, Upp Cross St, Chin Swee Rd, Outram Rd, (New Bridge Rd) and New Bridge Rd Terminal.
Stop along Chin Swee Rd located at:
towards New Bridge Rd/ southbound: Opposite Block 13
towards Boon Lay/ northbound: Between Blocks 8 and 13 -
Heh heh. Just when we were talking about a bus plying Chin Swee Road, SBST decides to amend 174 to ply Chin Swee Road.

I thought SBST website would be slow at updating service changes.. seems lilke they're getting pretty efficent
There was once that the SBST website updated about 4 days after the amendment notice was put up at bus stops. -
Seems that this amendment has something remotely connected with the NEL...
Svc 124 firstly...to bring residents to NEL...now 174...perhaps to bring ppl in Chin Swee to the NEL?
Looks like more services plying between Orchard and New Bridge might be amended.. -
do all of u think 167,171,77,106,700 and 190 will be admended just like 174?

Oh, yes I forgot. Everytime I get from Orchard to Chinatown or vice-versa, I would avoid taking service 143 as I have taken this service too often (service 143 serves my area) that I will find alternative services between Orchard and Chinatown.Originally posted by Superbus:There's still Service 143. dun think so... did CSS 603 ply Chin Swee Rd? nopes.. TIBS 190 is probably the duplicating route of CSS 603 for most parts..

A LO3x, SBS9038J, is spotted on SBST 174 towards New Bridge Rd at Dunearn Rd (Aft Siwss Club Rd) at 7.14pm todae.. looks like SBST is putting DDs on 174..

Same rt right? 190 uses Hill Street (Clarke Quay) -
it does come to my mind that 174 does not in anyway duplicate 603 in chiantown..so er...WHAT?!

No think in a sense of 1 direction i.e Orchard - Upp Cross Street.

that's to serve students from Outram Sec (Yoke Hill), imagine for more than 20 years, Outramians have to walk for 400m from the nearest bus stop along Outram Road to Chin Swee Road. it's a 12 minutes walk.
Alternatively, Outramians may walk up a flight of stairs (more than 100 steps), from nearest bus stop along Havelock Road. It's a 15 minutes tiring walk.
Ironically, many Outramians still overweights!
Would the change in Bus Service 174, results in more overweights among Outramians? -
I've never seem to catch a DD Svc 174 ever since SBST implemented ADDs on it. I wonder whether are they deleyed or something? I seldom see Svc 174 on Orchard Rd over these 2 days.

I think there will be 2 Superbuses of service 174 at New Bridge Road Terminal at 6.30pm.
