i realised that Somapah Interchange may not have closed since 1983 as it is shown as a bus terminal in the 1988 Singapore Street Directory. thus, it could most probably have been downgraded to Somapah Terminal after all the 39x services (interchanges have feeder services and terminals don't, generally) were withdrawn in 1983 from Somapah. but i induced the closure from the booklet available at NRL that introduces new services at Airport, including 57 (Bishan - Airport), and stated that 39x services have been withdrawn except 390.
When service 390 was extended to Tomlinson Rd, it plied Selegie Rd, Sungei Rd, Ophir Rd (towards Airport) and Rochor Rd, Bencoolen St (towards Orchard)Originally posted by ^tamago^:i've been to national reference library at central library level 3 and went to singapore resource centre and guess what i've found? bus guides dating back to 1979! i didn't have time to note down all the stuffs, but i've noted Somapah Interchange's buses. if you need the routes of old services do visit there when u're free!

BTW, I did notice an 80c OMO service 138 from AMK to Shenton Way (loop) that travelled express from Clemenceau Ave (at Newton Circus) till Cantonment Road via Chin Swee Road. updates
[b]tranquilice
1. updated the routes of some buses that plied from Somapah Int/Ter.
2. my error for the 57's route (it's not bishan - airport). i assumed it cos i was typing it into my pda in the last 5 minutes of library hours.
3. could not confirm whether i also copied wrongly 393 and 394's route cos they are done together with 57 during last 5 minutes (i was doing the airport 1983 booklet then)
4. Service 17 plied from Changi Point to Prince Edward Rd. be checking out on actual route of service 17 when i go to NRL the next time, prob tomolo or mondae.
yusry
5. thanks for the info on 138. i think it may be the one. be checking again the bus guides tomolo or mondae at NRL. where u got the info?

I went down this afternoon.. Saw a whole lot of 90s Bus Guides. Got a glimpse of the 1979/1980 Bus Guide written in Chinese. I couldnt find the 80s bus guide. I think someone might have taken it...Originally posted by Zilchster:Hey, what day r u all going down to the Library? I wanna go too
Want to know why? There's always inconsiderate people who just grabbed every available bus guides on the shelf, and then take a long time to return, without giving a thought that other people might want to read them too.Originally posted by ^tamago^:double-checked everything bout Airport and Somapah. and todae, all the Bus Guides except the 1979/1980 (chinese).. and it's not back by closing time.. strange.. so i can't copy Service 17's route..
