So Sorry Guys,This Is Just A Hoax News.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Heard that there will be a new demonstrator bus for Hougang South depot , anyone has anymore information regarding this ?
It is not an introduction of a new model, but more of a demonstration of a new bodywork model. It is also possible that the demonstrator bus will join the fleet in late 2004, evident from the delay of nearly a year on the introduction of the 49 VSOs. Also, isn't NEXT YEAR, 2004?Originally posted by carbikebus:So Sorry Guys,This Is Just A Hoax News.
SBS Transit CRC Staffs Just Replies To Me That There Is No New Models To Be Introduced NEXT Year Let Alone Double-Decks.
The Earliest They They Will Introduced Will Be Either Late 04 Or Early 05.Some Delgro Friends Inform Me.
So Sorry,Actually It's Late 05 And Early 06,I Just Re-Confirms,Anyways SBS Transit Replies,They Did Not Announces About The New Model With New Body Manufacturer,To Make Me More Embarassed,My SBST Technician Supervisor Friends Even Said If There Have Any Other Body Manufacturer,Why Is He Not Informed About This?Futhermore He Is Working With SBST(SBS 1978 LTD)For Nearly 18 Years! So Better SBST Confirms That They Really Receive New Bodykit From This Unknown Manufacturer.Originally posted by Superbus:It is not an introduction of a new model, but more of a demonstration of a new bodywork model. A source informed us of the existence of such a bus with an all-new design and all-new interiors. The bus was spotted leaving DelGro HQ sometime earlier this year. A student who's attached at HGDEP as an apprentice also confirmed that there was a VSO chassis which was yet to be rebodied. This was informed to us late last year. He also said of SBST receiving new bodywork kits from an unknown body manufacturer early this year. It is believed that the chassis is the new demonstrator bus. We'll keep our fingers crossed until the bus is unveiled to the public.
Cheers and warm regards
They love to keep things secret.Originally posted by carbikebus:So Sorry,Actually It's Late 05 And Early 06,I Just Re-Confirms,Anyways SBS Transit Replies,They Did Not Announces About The New Model With New Body Manufacturer,To Make Me More Embarassed,My SBST Technician Supervisor Friends Even Said If There Have Any Other Body Manufacturer,Why Is He Not Informed About This?Futhermore He Is Working With SBST(SBS 1978 LTD)For Nearly 18 Years! So Better SBST Confirms That They Really Receive New Bodykit From This Unknown Manufacturer.
OF course what. We also had no idea when the remaining 49 B10TLs would come out, and when they did, only the first 34 did. Two months later the other 15 joined.Originally posted by off_service:They love to keep things secret.
Same as Tibs, I asked about Bendy Buses on service 859 back in 2000. They replied they had no plans on that, but one month later, the all new Habit Bus appeared on service 859.
Correct. Highly likely a B9TL is headed our way. Too many Volgrens already, go the Enviro route, I hope.Originally posted by Superbus:Slightly off-topic...
I just browsed through a website of Kowloon Motor Bus list of new buses. And I stumbled upon 2 new units of Volvo B9TL buses. One is fitted with a Volgren bodywork. The other is fitted with the Enviro 500 bodywork. Though unlikely, this bodywork might be fitted on the new SBST's demonstrator bus, as the rear of the Enviro 500 is somehow similar to the Habit. I'm excited..

Unlikely. They have such close working relationship with these companies.Originally posted by carbikebus:I just hopes that sbst & tibs don't purchased majority volvos & mercedes respectively in future.

[b]An update
According to our source(s), the demonstrator bus have been duly completed and kept at an undisclosed location. Like the previous postings, this Superbus is unlike the normal Superbus we have seen on Singapore's roads. Initial reports indicates that the bus was fitted with an all-new design by PSV.

If I am not wrong, the new buses will be based at HGDEP as usual. That's what some bus fans heard.Originally posted by service_238:Let me see... I guess these new buses will be based either in BBDEP or HGDEP. Unless BNDEP can get rid some of its buses, there is no room for these newbies.
Oddly enough it sounds like an Enviro-bodied B9/B10TL.Originally posted by carbikebus:Yup,an 'inside' friend show his graphics that the bus also had a 3 small round headlights similiar to those habit type and 2 rear taillights similiar to those trident type.Info that only 6 were finish built and the others will be introduced progressively![]()
May I share the same sentiments like you do, SBS9818A? Will have to really see for myself if it is fitted with a PSV body. The description of the bus front and rear is that of an Enviro 500, but without the 3-piece windscreen.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Oddly enough it sounds like an Enviro-bodied B9/B10TL.
Yes, you know how SBST love modifying bus bodies. Look at our VOs and HK's VOs.Originally posted by Superbus:May I share the same sentiments like you do, SBS9818A? also going around is that there are 6 completed units.
