Heard that there will be a new demonstrator bus for Hougang South depot , anyone has anymore information regarding this ?

yes it is believe that such a bus exists now. in fact it could have came in as early as apr 2003. at any rate no one knows the exact model. the only info is its a double deck. could be wright, could be enviro but most of us think its a habit VSO.
the bus will be launched next year....

It is not an introduction of a new model, but more of a demonstration of a new bodywork model. It is also possible that the demonstrator bus will join the fleet in late 2004, evident from the delay of nearly a year on the introduction of the 49 VSOs. A source informed us of the existence of such a bus with an all-new design and all-new interiors. The bus was spotted leaving DelGro HQ sometime earlier this year. A student who's attached at HGDEP as an apprentice also confirmed that there was a VSO chassis which was yet to be rebodied. This was informed to us late last year. He also said of SBST receiving new bodywork kits from an unknown body manufacturer early this year. It is believed that the chassis is the new demonstrator bus. We'll keep our fingers crossed until the bus is unveiled to the public.

Same as Tibs, I asked about Bendy Buses on service 859 back in 2000. They replied they had no plans on that, but one month later, the all new Habit Bus appeared on service 859. -

Slightly off-topic...
I just browsed through a website of Kowloon Motor Bus list of new buses. And I stumbled upon 2 new units of Volvo B9TL buses. One is fitted with a Volgren bodywork. The other is fitted with the Enviro 500 bodywork. Though unlikely, this bodywork might be fitted on the new SBST's demonstrator bus, as the rear of the Enviro 500 is somehow similar to the Habit. I'm excited..

An update
According to our source(s), the demonstrator bus have been duly completed and kept at an undisclosed location. Like the previous postings, this Superbus is unlike the normal Superbus we have seen on Singapore's roads. Initial reports indicates that the bus was fitted with an all-new design by PSV.

Let me see... I guess these new buses will be based either in BBDEP or HGDEP. Unless BNDEP can get rid some of its buses, there is no room for these newbies.

Most probably based in HGDepot. They always get all the new demo buses.

May I share the same sentiments like you do, SBS9818A? Will have to really see for myself if it is fitted with a PSV body. I don't really think it is fitted with PSV body honestly.Need to reconfirm as this is only a description from a friend computer graphic,not a real picture.
Note;This friend of mine are working under soon chow,did ask him for a print picture but he refused to gave,maybe company policies.

heh....we also heard that 1 of the rego is SBS9889U but that i think is pure rumours.
also going around is that there are 6 completed units.
hopeful the next issue of busway will show us these buses how they look like.

Right now we better wait for the latest info with evidences agreed?
AFAIK,even some bus captains did not know about the looks of the new models even though some of them had friends working in the body assembler company.Maybe had to smuggle taking photos of it once i know the exact locations of the buses.
