From Streats Forum: Driver stopped bus to order drink

  Someone complained in the Streats forums today about a driver stopping his bus to order a drink... Kind of strange... Anyway, here's the full extract:
  
  "I took bus service 169 (TIB 429E) from Ang Mo Kio bus interchange to Yishun on Nov 29. During the journey, at about 8.25pm, the bus stopped at Upper Thomson Road, at the bus stop on Upper Thomson Road where Sembawang Baptist Church is located. A pasenger alighted from the bus. The bus did not continue. Then I saw the driver waving his hand to someone at a nearby eatery. It was a few minutes before I reaslied that the driver was waiting for a hot drink to be brought to him. The public transport service in Singapore is supposed to be world class. Thus it should not keep passengers waiting unnecessarily. Can something be done to prevent it from happening again?"

  What Happen When The Driver Is Sleepy And Needs To Sips A Coffee?Do They Want Him To Continue Or A Few Seconds Drink,C'mon Driving For Hours Can Be Sleepy And Tiring.I've Been Riding And Driving For More Than 4 Hours Before,I Know Better Unless The Driver Is Taking Advantage!

  But Upper Thomson is not very far from AMK... Say about 15 minutes' ride? The driver could have a drink of tea or coffee at AMK during his break earlier if he's sleepy what...

  In This Case,I Think This Driver Is Crazy,He Should Bring A Bottle Or What.Mind You,He Is Driving Public Bus,Not Private Bus!
  No Offences,But SBST & TIBS Drivers Are Foreigners.
