The following services will definitely be withdrawn:Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Any guess which bus services will be affected ?
Agree with the above PLUS....Originally posted by iamgoondu:The following services will definitely be withdrawn:
Service 95: BV to NUH
Service 91: BV to Ayer Rajah Crescent
Service 191: BV to Portsdown
Holland station may be near to BV station, but it served commuters travelling along Holland Road. Its location allows one to make transfer along major road, Holland Road.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Toa Payoh Rise station just outside MCDS building? Hmm, that's interesting. And why a station in the middle of a CEMETERY, for god's sake? Future nonetheless, but how soon are they going to redevelop the cemetery? It could be like Woodleigh, build station first, open it later.
And also Holland station is SIMPLY too near Buona Vista station! One-North and NUH also.
Possibly. But at the moment, NUS has a very good shuttle bus service (which I take everyday during my classes in NUS) A1/A2 which loops around NUS.Originally posted by iamgoondu:it would be better if they have a station at NUS (central library), unfortunately there isn't.
Perhaps NUS might have its own LRT which link NUH to itself.
Remember the previous proposed Buona Vista LRT that connect NUS to NUH to BV and HV?
Sv. 165 from Hougang - Bishan ah?Originally posted by foxtrot1985:165 likely to be amended too as it duplicates Circle Line from MacRitchie to Holland Village....
If that turns into reality, the route is very redundant. Maybe Svc 165 could be the backbone route of the CCLOriginally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 165 from Hougang - Bishan ah?
In fact there is little duplication between 165 and CCL from Holland to Thomson. The only duplicate was from Holland Village and Adam Road (Serene Center).Originally posted by foxtrot1985:165 likely to be amended too as it duplicates Circle Line from MacRitchie to Holland Village....
well in the white paper of soem year i did notice the LRT lien rounning in within NUS. i do belif there are plans for the LRT to connect to NUH stn in the near 30 years future...for now its ISBs. which are free i might addOriginally posted by Yusry:Possibly. It's more likely that they withdraw 200 than 165. Service 200 is definitely running at a loss. Moreover SBST might be having a very hard time in maintaining the schedule arrival time at each bus-stop.Originally posted by xin1jun2:i wonder if they will keep 200 oafter this thing pops out...CCL....
as for 165...looks like it could be withdrawn if LTA has it its way

Sv. 200 indeed operates at a loss but SBST have to keep it.Originally posted by iamgoondu:It's more likely that they withdraw 200 than 165. Service 200 is definitely running at a loss. Moreover SBST might be having a very hard time in maintaining the schedule arrival time at each bus-stop.
If they ever withdraw 200, I shall miss the long and windy route along South Buona Vista.
What could be your favorite bus route? Mine would be 200!
It would be more logical to open them together, but you know LTA..Originally posted by ^tamago^:4-question post..
i was wondering if Stages 4 & 5 are to be constructed and completed together in 2010, why split them up into 2 stages?
the only logical reason is the connection to Buona Vista being seen as seperate from Stage 5 but wouldn't it be easier to jus put them as Stage 4?
or they planning to open up to One North while taking their time for the rest?
or opening within months of each other but not together?
Yeah, I guess so.Originally posted by thots:All station going to be underground?
Sv. 28 back to the good old days isn't it? Maybe having more services terminating at Eunos would be better since the place is very underutilized. Alternative could be Tampines - Bishan via the PIE,CTE, exiting at AMK Ave 1, such that the link to Paya Lebar is still preserved somewhat.Originally posted by ^tamago^:My proposals to rationalize bus services in the area after opening of CCL, with the mindset that if i'm in charge of this at LTA and my job and "rice bowl" is at stake!
Stage 2 is repeated here as from discussions on previous post "Phase 4 of CCL coming soon!" for completeness.
STAGE 2 (OAP-TKT-PYL-MPS-UPL)
SERVICE 16: Cut short to operate between Bt Merah Int and Dhoby Ghaut MRT (loop at Bencoolen St). Withdrawn route covered by SBST 14 (Joo Chiat Rd), 36 (Marine Parade) and CCL.

SERVICE 93: Withdrawn. Withdrawn route covered by SBST 28, 153, 157 and NEL.[/quote]
SBST have said that if they cut Sv. 80, there will be a large public outroar. Possible route could be HarbourFront - Eunos, as it is the only service Geylang East residents have to go down to town.
I agree that Sv. 93 will be cut totally, it is quite pointless for it to exactly duplicate the CCL.
STAGE 3 (Bartley - Marymount)

SERVICE 855: Cut short to ply between Yishun and Bt Merah. Withdrawn sector covered by SBST 275 and CCL.
WHEN THOMSON STATION OPENSWouldn't Sv. 10 duplicate Sv. 65 in a sense they both go to the same place? Sv. 51 from HG Central to HarbourFront, meaning that it would turn left into Telok Blangah Rd from Alexandra instead of turning right now, correct?
SERVICES 167 & 980: Extended to loop at Thomson Station at Toa Payoh Rise in both directions.
WHEN WEST COAST STATION OPENS
SERVICE 200: Withdrawn. Withdrawn route covered by SBST 30, 143 and CCL.
^ Changes perceived to have no apparent benefit to SBS Transit and may face resistance
Possibly true for Svc 80, then it will make a detour via Geylang East Central, then turn east to Eunos via Sims Ave East, providing a link to EWL and CCL. But i expected LTA to ask them to walk to Paya Lebar or Aljunied stations, or if u can't walk take Svc 155. Or cut Svc 80 to New Bridge Rd Ter? And I do believe Eunos Int is under-utilized. ^5=)
Yup. I'm not sure if SBS Transit is too serious about providing long-distance express services unlike TIBS (they jus introduced 966). I expect LTA will ask passengers to take EWL then CCL to get from Tampines to Upp Paya Lebar Rd and Bishan.
Sv. 28 back to the good old days isn't it? Maybe having more services terminating at Eunos would be better since the place is very underutilized. Alternative could be Tampines - Bishan via the PIE,CTE, exiting at AMK Ave 1, such that the link to Paya Lebar is still preserved somewhat.
Sv. 62 could loop at Potong Pasir even, or terminate at TPY, after all, it's not a very long detour.
For Svc 186, also, I didn't think that far.
Why not Sv. 186 to Buona Vista, so that the loop is unnecessary. Not suprised Sv. 852 might be a candidate for withdrawal, Sv. 855 does serve some niche areas like YCK and Bukit Merah, so keep it.
Not exactly duplicating Svc 65, Svc 10 does have its niche area (Tampines-Siglap-Shenton Way) and also terminal-to-terminal duplication is not uncommon, like Tampines-Bedok.
Wouldn't Sv. 10 duplicate Sv. 65 in a sense they both go to the same place? Sv. 51 from HG Central to HarbourFront, meaning that it would turn left into Telok Blangah Rd from Alexandra instead of turning right now, correct?
