AFAIK Sv. 2 is not controlled by BBDEP, unless several JB Mk IIIs have been x-ferred to BNDEP.Originally posted by Superbus:In other words, the Mark 3 you took on Service 2 is actually the JB Mark 3?

I guess it's Dennis Trident.Originally posted by off_service:You're lucky, it's one of the "rare gems". But it's hard to determine the bus model yet. Either Volvo or Dennis.
I think the last few 143 buses would be packed with people. It leaves JUR @2400Originally posted by tranquilice:My last ride for 2003 is onboard service 143 from Outram Park back home on 31 Dec. It was half empty due to the countdown events, usually the buses were packed on the night of holiday eve.
Really ah? haha, but i feel so funny when i boarded it cause i expect noise pollution from the mobile TV but it was really quiet only the auntie chatting.Originally posted by off_service:You're lucky, it's one of the "rare gems". But it's hard to determine the bus model yet. Either Volvo or Dennis.
SBS 770 of service 40 is not repainted and fitted with 3rd brake light. This could be the bus seen on service 2.Originally posted by SBS9818A:AFAIK Sv. 2 is not controlled by BBDEP, unless several JB Mk IIIs have been x-ferred to BNDEP.
I was in the direction of Jurong East.Originally posted by service_238:I think the last few 143 buses would be packed with people. It leaves JUR @2400
Not even that! It might also be SBS 765, another unrepainted Volvo B10M Mk III .Originally posted by off_service:SBS 770 of service 40 is not repainted and fitted with 3rd brake light. This could be the bus seen on service 2.
I don't remember SBS 770L being fitted with 3rd brake light. That was when I saw it late last year, on Sv. 28Originally posted by off_service:SBS 770 of service 40 is not repainted and fitted with 3rd brake light. This could be the bus seen on service 2.
Perhaps due to the Malaysian Government rules and regulations. They might only allow SBS coloured buses into JB.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:Anyway, just curious about this... Why are the 170 buses all unrepainted?
I don't really see the difference if it's old SBS colours or new SBS Transit colours anyway.. They're still operated by the same company anyway...Originally posted by off_service:Perhaps due to the Malaysian Government rules and regulations. They might only allow SBS coloured buses into JB.
Agreed !!Originally posted by foxtrot1985:I don't really see the difference if it's old SBS colours or new SBS Transit colours anyway.. They're still operated by the same company anyway...

u ahve to go back some 15 years to see svc 2 in 198x. thne it was op by BBDEP and maybe if svc 2 had not been shortened to NBR now it would be uysing JB mark 3s.
at any rate svc 2 does have many mark 3s buses wiht no TV. for exmaple SBS637
