Perhaps for CHC charters. The charter uses a significant number of bendies.Originally posted by carbikebus:I noticed that there are cameo buses for svs 61 especially on weekends.Usually the habits which you see on weekdays does not available too,any ideas?Yesterday, there are 3 12m buses instead of 1 12m/1 artic which you could see on weekday.Previously,I did saw a dennis lance 211 parked there too(eunos).
The minimart is located at the junction of Sunshine Ter and Upp Serangoon Rd. It is near the junction of Braddell Rd and Upp Serangoon Rd. Take 13 to Serangoon Rd or Upp Serangoon Rd and take 107 133 147 853 from there. Alight at the first bus stop after the Braddell Rd Junction. Cross the road after that.Originally posted by carbikebus:Need some help,My colleague is opening a new minimart @ 536 Upp serangoon rd which i got no idea where is the exact location. Some friend say it is near serangoon int while the other indicates that it is one bus stop past the int.I'm going to pay a visit to his minimart on mon the 2nd and i would like to know what bus service went there from geylang(joo chiat cplx)?
Pls reply,Thanks in advance!
Buses will become feeder. MRT will be the backbone of Singapore public transport.Originally posted by carbikebus:Hi guys,Do you think that the future public transportations will be rail systems? Buses,I think that the only trunk services which would survive will be those plying expressways and not so long journeys(Direct).Feeders,Intratown,Townlink & Industrial will also survive dependings on the routes.Don't you think so?
Anything can happen.Originally posted by th1988:No, buses will be complementing MRTs like 2 and 147
Buses will also link up NT to NT like 142 as it is not possible for MRT to be everywhere.
If that happens, FREAK IT!Originally posted by SBS9818A:Buses will become feeder. MRT will be the backbone of Singapore public transport.
My friend, I think you are not observant enough. It has happened and will continue to happen. The Government have made their minds that the MRT network will become the backbone of Singapore's transportation system. Buses/LRT system will act as feeders and complement the MRT wherever an MRT system is not possible or viable.Originally posted by service_238:If that happens, FREAK IT!![]()

The 1st phase of the NEL Rationalization Exercise is one good example of bus diversions to FEED the NEL system. Many of the current trunk services act as feeders to the MRT system along its route.
Cheers and warm regards
It has already taken place.Originally posted by service_238:If that happens, FREAK IT!![]()

My friend,One simple example,Currently any new long distances services like SBST39 & TIBS966 are plying the expressways respectively.IMO,The future of the current long distances svs eg 61 will be either amended to ply the expressway or possibly shorthened or even withdrawn.Originally posted by service_238:![]()

grr...
Sv. 61 will be shortened, perhaps split into two services, Bt. Merah - Bt. Batok and Eunos - Bt. Merah, probably same for Sv. 51, HG Central - HBF, HBF - Jurong East.Originally posted by carbikebus:My friend,One simple example,Currently any new long distances services like SBST39 & TIBS966 are plying the expressways respectively.IMO,The future of the current long distances svs eg 61 will be either amended to ply the expressway or possibly shorthened or even withdrawn.![]()
My idea is this:Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 61 will be shortened, perhaps split into two services, Bt. Merah - Bt. Batok and Eunos - Bt. Merah, probably same for Sv. 51, HG Central - HBF, HBF - Jurong East.
Sv. 51 should go to Shenton Way, giving commuters a link to HG at late nights.Originally posted by tranquilice:My idea is this:
Service 61: Bt Batok - Lor 1 Geylang and Eunos - New Bridge Rd.
Service 51: Hougang Central - Eunos and Jurong East - Shenton Way.
But how many people will go to Shenton Way at late weekday nights? Lau Pa Sat only has more people during weekend nights.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 51 should go to Shenton Way, giving commuters a link to HG at late nights.
The current service 51 comes from the integration of former services 51 and 192.Originally posted by service_238:If that ever happens, SBST would rather integrate the services. I guess the origins of Svc 51 61 come from several service integrations.
Not forgetting 31/149, 28/152 and 24
We have at least one member of the buses group who leaves his Shenton Way workplace late into the night and resides in Hougang.Originally posted by tranquilice:But how many people will go to Shenton Way at late weekday nights? Lau Pa Sat only has more people during weekend nights.
But I don't think demand is that high, that's why service 107 is diverted to serve Marina Centre during the off-peak periods.Originally posted by SBS9818A:We have at least one member of the buses group who leaves his Shenton Way workplace late into the night and resides in Hougang.
Demand isn't much higher at Marina Centre, I might like to add.Originally posted by tranquilice:But I don't think demand is that high, that's why service 107 is diverted to serve Marina Centre during the off-peak periods.
