I have replied explaining that they can make use of Dover station for such higher loading and unloading needs as there are split dividers at the pair of bus stops outside Dover station (not just one, but both bus stops have it) so the buses from current services calling there can depart first without their operation being disrupted and cited the case of Sentosa Service C buses using split divider bus stop at Tiong Bahru MRT where the Sentosa buses park in the front part of the bus bay and other omnibuses can depart from behind with the split divider..

To Whom It May Concern
Dear Sir or Madam
We refer to your feedback we received on 26 January.
2 As per investigation by the planners, the stop along Dover Station
does not have adequate facilities for effective bus operations. With a
service calling at Dover, some passengers would be expected to shift from
Clementi and as a result, queues would be formed during the peak periods,
this in turn would be potentially disruptive to the traffic flow as the
stop serves Singapore Polytechnic as well as passengers transferring
to/from the MRT from/to other bus services.
3 Due to the above constraint, we regret that we are unable to adhere
to your suggestion. Nevertheless, we have kept your suggestion for our
future planning.
4 Thank you for your feedback.
Regards
Yours sincerely

Thanks for putting up the suggestion to SBST.Originally posted by ^tamago^:iamgoondu and also those concerned:

I have also asked them to look into converting the underutilised taxi stands into an extension of the bus stop as a means of providing space for large volume of passenger boarding and alighting facilities..
Now let's wait for their reply..
I will opt for version 1 or 3. It shall resolve the following:Originally posted by service_238:I have sent my suggestion of Service 20 Pasir Ris - Kent Ridge 2 days ago. I have yet to receive a reply.
My suggestion of Service 20 is available at http://buses.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=67711
If Svc11 is to be extended to East Coast Park, it would duplicate Svc 401. The motive of svc 11 is to link the National Stadium area with the nearest MRTOriginally posted by carbikebus:Any other routes suggestions you have in mind? How about plying to east coast park service rd,Do you'll think it is a good idea?Anyway,I also can't be bothered if the suggestions is unsucessful.
That's true. When CCL is completed pax can transfer at Dhoby Ghaut station.Originally posted by service_238:If Svc11 is to be extended to East Coast Park, it would duplicate Svc 401. Ok,Noted. Those SBST crc replied to me today saying that svs 11 have low demands and extending it to ECPS rd will make it more worse.Originally posted by SBS9818A:That's true. When CCL is completed pax can transfer at Dhoby Ghaut station.
actually the majority of the students are on concession passes so it won't help much.. for those paying adult fares, the route to Dover only saves one bus stop's fare (0.5 stages) so it does not affect much in revenue.. and boarding at any bus stop along Kent Ridge Crescent still costs 63 cents to go to Clementi MRT bus stop or Dover MRT..Originally posted by iamgoondu:Thanks for putting up the suggestion to SBST.
Thought the bus stops in Dover are better equipped than those at Clementi stations. Moreover the bus stops in Dover are never packed or busy.
SBST did not deny the fact that Dover station is closer and more direct to Kent Ridge than Clementi. Perhaps someone can evaluate if commuters pay lesser fares to Engineering faculty from Dover than from Clementi. If SBST stands to lose in revenues collection.
Perhaps NUS students council is in a better position to fight for NUS students population, a more direct bus and bus transfers which may results a substantiate savings over a 3 years period.
Tamaco,
Did you request for bus extensions, amendments or a new bus route?

Service 11 - Due to low demand for services to East Coast Park on weekdays, we regret that we are unable to accede to your request. Although Service 401 is serving the East Coast Park during the weekends, however, our survey has shown that demand is also weak.

I would suggest long buses on my 238Originally posted by Superbus:This email was sent to our fellow member - carbikebus.
Long buses - Our present fleet of Superbuses are sufficient to cope with the demand and we are also replacing old buses with newer and spacious buses as and when available. As such, there is no necessity for deployment of long buses
Aiya,You don't know them ah..always bullxxxx only.Last month when i waited for svs 401 opp costa sand resorts,There was a hell lots of pax waiting for the bus and when the bus arrive,It was nearly full.Originally posted by ^tamago^:.
i thought it has passed its 3-month trial and now SBS Transit thinks it's having weak demand.. could it get 'axed' soon?
Unlikely. Same for Sv. 68, I think they are staying for good.Originally posted by ^tamago^:.

It's only like that which they can get their buses worth. Similar to sv 161, sometimes the queue warrants a DD, instead a SD came, sometimes a MK3.Originally posted by carbikebus:Aiya,You don't know them ah..always bullxxxx only.Last month when i waited for svs 401 opp costa sand resorts,There was a hell lots of pax waiting for the bus and when the bus arrive,It was nearly full.
Guess what,Some of the pax had to stand. If really weak demands,Then withdrawn or at least hand over to TIBS lah!!![]()
