It's a pity that hubs can barely be heard on local O405s thanks to the speed limiter. I also miss the B57s, the Atlanteans and 2-axle Olympians. Wonder why noone mentioned the O305?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Favourite bus engine sound (of all time):

Mercedes-Benz O405; even better if can hear the hub-reduction.
Mercedes-Benz OF1417
Scania N113, L113, L94UB.
Leyland Victory, Atlantean, Olympian
Volvo B57
Nissan Diesel U31
Favourite seats:
On Superbuses, 2 rows before the last. If I want to sleep, I'll sit at the last row so that my head can rest on the air-con duct.
On the O405, B10M Mk-II & III; just after the first axle. Lots of legroom. Can slide down, rest my head and koon but be careful if your hp is in your trouser pocket. I lost mine that way. Beside the Emer. Exit on the Mk-III is nice to sleep also.
The O305! It slipped my mind. How can I ever forget my most favourite bus? They don't make buses like the O305 anymore. I really miss them. The O305 can outrun the VSO, Trident, VO and LO anytime.Originally posted by SBS9818A:It's a pity that hubs can barely be heard on local O405s thanks to the speed limiter. Yes, the O305 was a beauty. The most powerful double-deck of the time. I remember taking Sv. 132 O305s down the winding Tanglin Rd. OK, I'll hunt down 482 soon.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The O305! It slipped my mind. How can I ever forget my most favourite bus? They don't make buses like the O305 anymore. The hubs on our O405s are audible. You just need to listen closely. There is a regular sv 242 bus, SBS 482, with really loud hubs. I ride it almost every night. Cool!

The Scania DD was a BR112DH with East Lancs body. I've only rode it once so I can't recall what it sounded like. Was it something like the N113? Don't forget the OF1417 also came with NZMB body.Originally posted by carbikebus:Leyland victory, atlantean

Posted by TIB1186Z,Are you sure you comprise 25% of Yishun population? Hmm, didn't know that only 4 people reside in Yishun.
!!!!!!!!!!!SBS 9818A, please do not assert that ALL people are insane cos there are at least 25% of the population who live in TIBS controlled area and would very much like to hear the albeit noisy radiator as compared to the irritating farts of the lances and the harsh engine noise, as well as bearing with the black smoky exhaust that it is known for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The quietest double-decker ever to grace Singapore roads. Had the chance to rode on it quite a number of times, when it was on Service 31 for a brief period of time, just before it's withdrawal. The engine sounds like the N113CRBs, albeit much quieter.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The Scania DD was a BR112DH with East Lancs body. Im sure that there are many more others out there who dun really like the bus but just dun noe wad the bus is. And oh yah, Lances are NOT exclusive to ply within Yishun ONLY. Lances are also present in other TIBS controlled areas such as Sembawang and Bukit Batok.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Are you sure you comprise 25% of Yishun population? OK then, didn't know there are only FOUR residents in TIBS-controlled regions. Interesting.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Im sure that there are many more others out there who dun really like the bus but just dun noe wad the bus is. Hmm.....ever thought of getting TGTS as ur English teacher? Heard tt some luv him for his ability to teach comprehension skills.Originally posted by SBS9818A:OK then, didn't know there are only FOUR residents in TIBS-controlled regions. Interesting.![]()
I haven't done Sets in school yet. Apparently a certain HOD is better than TGTS in English. And I said FOUR residents because you're the only Yishunite that's constantly complaining. Well, you had a choice not to go to your current school what, so why complain?Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Hmm.....ever thought of getting TGTS as ur English teacher? In case u have problem understanding, let me explain in terms of maths.
Let R be the set of residents, both bus spotters and non bus spotters who live in TIBS controlled areas.
Then , {R : 5,6,7,8,9,...............,n}, and R is not a null set
Understand?
Lets close this misunderstood and weird debate, and please know that there are Engilsh words that are intermediate and not absolute![]()

For me is luck playing a big joke on me. Once I start school in my school, the Lances (UK) appeared all over sv 852. Tough luck.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I haven't done Sets in school yet.
