S'pore bus forum meeting

Can someone organised maybe monthly meetings for bus forumers?I find this is very interesting as we can know each others better,can exchange ideas,bus photos,latest news and probably created our own bus website.The procedure is like every members have to pay $5-10 once every 2-3 months for the members and the website maintenance fees.Monthly meetings can be either @hawker ctr,fast food rest,cofee shops or even void decks and to be fair the locations should be rotation systems ie;west,northwest,central,north,northeast & east.If this proved sucessful,who knows one day we can publish our own bus magazine similiar to those friends of sbst & tibs.(just opinions)

Idea is good. However to publish the magazine would be costly. Who will be the target readers?

A very good idea indeed. Bus fans in Hong Kong, Britain and Australia have regular meetings with each other. Its about time the Singapore Bus Fans have one too. It is a good way to discuss our views, exchange information and much more!

But the logistics involved would be tremendous. Face it, the bus spotting fraternity here is not as big as those in HK or other countries. I would expect the bus fan community in HK to be at least ten times larger.
For such a small group coordination would be quite tough already, a venue and date has to be fixed. I'm not into having it monthly. Maybe once in two months or quarterly meets. -

Organising depot tours for such a group would bring more headache than anything else. -

2. It would be difficult to get the website updated, esp with busy schedules of the webmaster.
3. It is very hard to get people paying until there's some results shown or work done.
4. Any gathering with 10 or more persons can be deemed as illegal gathering. Therefore, meeting in places like hawker centres / coffee shops or void decks may mean some explainations to the police.
5. Publishing magazines can cost a bomb. Perhaps just some regular updates or e-Mag on the site (if anyone is kind enough to do it). -

1-ok,need to find someone to handle this
2-same as above
3-ok,roughly how much?For the time being those who works can actually shared every month to pay the bills until there's some results.
4-In that case,we don't gather in one group.We split depends on how many persons attended(4-5pax per group).
If once a month is difficult,why not we try once in 3 montns?
Anyway don't worry too much about the gathering,as long we don't carry any weapons,brings illegal stuffs(drugs/porn vcd)and don't make troubles to others,it is ok.They can't bring you back to station nor charge you in court.I used to gather with nearly 12 pax below hdb void deck @12am discussing about cars and bikes when a patrol car stopped and have some enquiries on us,they said it is ok as long we don't make any troubles or noises and they went off.

Yes,at first my wife thought that i'm crazy because of my hobby,in the end she was very understanding and even bought the superbus replica for my birthday present!My mother is one of the TIBS super fans,She always hoped that jurong east inter is controlled by TIBS rather that Sxxx,she also said that TIBS buses are faster,comfortable and majority of the drivers is polite.No wonder she always went to my brother house @ woodlands rather than my house(east area).Haa haa,joking only..Originally posted by service_238:My friends just tell me that i'm sick today because of my fantasy of buses and collecting guides....
