Are taxis here installed with speed limiters? I dunno if they are installed but in my opinion they are not, I have experienced taking taxis that travelled at more than 60km/h in the early hours of the morning.

Taxis do not have speed limiters, but they have a chime that is activated at 90km/h, I think. QX-plate vehicles also do not have speed limiters, though some of them are legally-limited to 60km/h, but all of them (at least police vehicles) have a chime at 90km/h.Originally posted by tranquilice:Are taxis here installed with speed limiters? Yes, you are correct. Taxis have a speed warning device which goes 'ting tong' whenever the driver exceeds 90km/h. Army vehicles are restricted to 50km/h and the army cars are restricted to 80km/h. They have speed warning devices which have counters. This island, by LTA and the government is divided into 7 parts:
North, Northwest, Northeast, West, Central, East, Southwest.
I'll make it clear that CCK & BB was exchanged not because of geographical reasons. TIBS was to control the North district, not the Northwest. Northwest was supposed to be controlled by SBS(1973) but as a result of the NEL, it was exchanged for the Northeast. LTA decided on the exchange as they wanted "seamless" travel in one area, which basically doesn't make sense...you should know why.
So, this exchange was part of a *$@&*^@* programme by the LTA, which doesn't make sense! -
Wow good for you to relieve this thread. As you can see on the previous pages (Page 9-11), there was a row over speed limiters.
I think it isnt 13th Feb 2004 as i said earlier, I think his last post of the century was posted in this thread beforehe vanished. -
