Bukit Timah where?Originally posted by th1988:Well, then I am going to Punggol
Don't want to say too much, poor linking network, but adequate as 4 services are needed and there are 3, 62, 82, 83, 136. 84 cannot be counted as it is peak hr sv (In my opinion)
But planning is good as there are no small road at all. But it may face withdrawn when LRT starts running end of this year.
But some services can be introduced
1) To Changi Village/ Beach
2) Ang Mo Kio/ Toa Payoh
3) Bukit Timah
4) Choa Chu Kang/ Bt Panjang
Perhaps SBST should extend 163 to Punggol as there is 159 in Sengkang. But if 163 is extended to Punggol, maybe 83 will.be withdrawn. It would be good if 163 is extended.Originally posted by th1988:Ang Mo Kio/ Toa Payoh
Sv. 159 should not be extended, route is already long enough. But SBST will say, take Sv. 83, transfer Sv. 159/Sv. 163Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Perhaps SBST should extend 163 to Punggol as there is 159 in Sengkang. Sv. 159 is a loop service. Yes, Sv. 23 is long.Originally posted by th1988:159 rt is only 19 FS. But what 9818 is saying as it is loop service.
So you are going to say that rt 23 is long as it is 39 FS?
I did not say extend svc 159, but I said to extend 163 to Punggol to cover up the current 83 route.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 159 should not be extended, route is already long enough. But SBST will say, take Sv. 83, transfer Sv. 159/Sv. 163
Sv. 83 may be withdrawn once PGLRT begins operations.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:I did not say extend svc 159, but I said to extend 163 to Punggol to cover up the current 83 route.
I agree with you.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 83 may be withdrawn once PGLRT begins operations.
For example Pasir Ris St 21 and 71. It bypasses my school.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 3 plies narrow roads within PSR.
macham copy my service 20 route from pasir ris to kent ridge. difference is that is operates from the north east instead of the east.Originally posted by th1988:Bt Timah for schools along Dunearn/ Bt Timah Road.
It would ply like this
Punggol East, Punggol Central, Punggol Road, TPE, CTE, Bt Timah Road, it can end at Kent Ridge. It will be semi express
One problem is that i dont think SBST will agree. Shortworking will definitely have to be implemented if its happens as svc 83's demand is 50% higher than 163. Another point to note is that of both services frequency.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:I did not say extend svc 159, but I said to extend 163 to Punggol to cover up the current 83 route.
Are you sure ADDs can use roads like Pasir Ris St 21 and Pasir Ris St 41? Dont make such sweeping statements if you dont know the road situation in Pasir Ris.Originally posted by th1988:But they are not very small roads, even ADDs can use it.
Street 71 is narrow, I agree but what I want to emphasise here is that does the ADD has sufficient turning radius to make the left turns from a main road into the streets? Take for example, if you want to implement ADDS on Service 3. Is the ADD able to turn left into Street 21 from Drive 2? I have seen drivers on N113CRBs and Mk3 having difficulties turning because of the kerb there and traffic in the opposite direction. With the larger turning radiuses of ADDs, I dont foresee it being easier in any way.Originally posted by th1988:Then what abt St 71?
Heard but not confirmed right? Anyway, where are they going to mount the aircon unit?Originally posted by th1988:Then use 2x ADDs as I heard VO 2x are gonna be converted.
Depends on which roads in Pasir Ris. Service 359 can use VO 2-axles to ply St 11, St 51 and part of St 71.Originally posted by th1988:Then what abt St 71?
