I agree with Delon. Not only the place to position the aircon is a problem, having to support an additional 500kg aircon could mean too much for the 2nd axle to bear.Originally posted by delonchew:Heard but not confirmed right? Anyway, where are they going to mount the aircon unit?
The 2x are able to turn because they are turning RIGHT at st 71 loop area instead of turning left. Turning right at a junction is easier than turning left.Originally posted by tranquilice:Depends on which roads in Pasir Ris. Service 359 can use VO 2-axles to ply St 11, St 51 and part of St 71.
The 2-axle VOs cannot be converted. A third axle has to be added to support the weight of the air-conditioning unit, which is not possible.Originally posted by th1988:Then use 2x ADDs as I heard VO 2x are gonna be converted.
Commuters have the NEL.Originally posted by th1988:OK, since no one is interested in the HGN post. I will start the forum on Sengkang
Ok, Sengkang has been very well planned
371, 372 serving Sengkang West where LRT is not launched yet. 86 is very fast to AMK. 87 very well linked to Kaki Bukit.
Also 3 services serving to TPY. 156 serving Bt Timah, Bishan, Serangoon, Clementi. It is almost very accesible except....
going to Shenton Way, Orchard Road after 85, 501, 502 were withdrawn from the area! But, many won't mind it as going to Orchard Road now is 50% less to travel.
The ADD is going to flip as it negotiates the narrow roads and sharp turns at ECP Service Road.Originally posted by th1988:OK, next will be Bedok.
Buses quite well planned but 229 leaves before last MRT trip. 401 may need ADDs as I saw many passengers waiting for 401 along most major bus stop along East Coast Park like Lagoon, ECRC.
Sv 60 (226 part) too does not serve up to 0030 as well, Bedok Nth Road residents not happy I think?
Where will 75, 77 or 970 terminate for your suggestion?Originally posted by iamgoondu:First time visiting to CCK stadium, and first time visiting to Yew Tee estate. The whole Yew Tee seems to be served by 302 and 307, and both are townlink services.
Compare Yew Tee with Ponggol or Seng Kang or Pasir Ris, Yew Tee has very bad transportation services. Anyway YT residents are satisfied with the only MRT station, no complaints heard from them.
If I were a resident of Yew Tee, I would probably request for TIBS 75, 77 or 970 to be diverted to Yew Tee.
Do we have other new estates which are worse than Yew Tee?
I am not familiar with Yew Tee, I am just surprised that Yew Tee residents are comfortable with having just Townlink services 302 and 307.Originally posted by delonchew:Where will 75, 77 or 970 terminate for your suggestion?
Uh, just to correct you, Yew Tee isn't a town. It's a neighbourhood, so why would TIBS have violated the rules? It still has 190, which serves Choa Chu Kang town.Originally posted by iamgoondu:I am not familiar with Yew Tee, I am just surprised that Yew Tee residents are comfortable with having just Townlink services 302 and 307.
One of the PTC requirements is all HDB residents must have connections to Orchard Road and ChinaTown ...(not sure if MRT consider as one of the possible linkage).
It definitely make alot of difference having trunk services running into the estates, perhaps YT residents feel it is more convenience to travel by train to Orchard and Chinatown than by buses.
If YT residents are comfortable with just train services, honestly I doubt the Hougang, Serangoon, Sengkang and Ponggol should continue to complaints...
If you know, Buona Vista and Ghim Moh terminals are just meters apart, but why SBST not merging the two? Not getting all buses terminating at BV or GM? (Not sure if it is because terminating SBST 111 at BV will render SBST to violate the PTC ruling of having all HDB residents accesss of services to Orchard Road). And we have SBST 195 that loop at Commonwealth Drive rather terminate at BV, SBST had heart even for a small estate like Commonwealth Drive.
If BV and GM can have terminals which are just meters apart, why couldn't we have a terminal at Yew Tee? The extension of 75, 77 or 970 to Yew Tee, may give YT residents at least a trunk service to Orchard Road or CHinatown.
The size of Yew Tee is probably very much bigger than the size of Dover, GM, Holland and Commonwealth, however their transportation services are terribly bad.
By lumping YT as a neighbourhood of CCK, it is making YT residents a disservice.
A trunk service should be provided for every 3,000 Dwelling Units (DUs) if there is no MRT serving the town. If the MRT serves the town, a trunk service should be provided for every 3,500 DUs.
Not sure if TIBS had violated such rules for YT residents.
Uh, is BV and GM part of Queenstown?Originally posted by iamgoondu:I am not offended at all. Anyway I am not a resident of YT. ANd I am totally aware that YT is a neighbourhood of CCK.
THat's what I meant, by lumping YT to CCK, it is making YT a disservice.
According to PTC service standard, every 3500 DU qualifies a trunk service. How many total Dwelling units YT and CCK having? TIBS may not have violate the PTC service standard by providing YT residents a townlink service to CCK interchange.
Something is not right. YT itself may qualify for 3 trunk services, yet all the services were given to CCK.....
Why Bukit Panjang is consider a town, whilst Yew Tee a neighbourhood? Yew Tee neighbourhood is bigger than Bukit Panjang Town.
Why Queenswtown has 2 terminals (BV and GM, perhaps more)? Why couldn't CCK has another terminal in YT? If there is a need or demand for a trunk service even in a neighbourhood, one should not use the PTC service standard to brush it away (that it had met the standard of that of a town). Having just 302 and 307 is just simply pathetic. Glad I am not staying in Yew Tee.
Originally posted by iamgoondu:well......TIBS certainly had violated the rule big time for Nee Soon East residents at 112,500 residents ( ie abt 4K per stop )by having one pathetic feeder on some days!!

Sure, BV and GM and Dover are just neighbourhoods of Queenstown? And HDB has always lumped them into Queenstown. In HDB sales and valuations...Originally posted by delonchew:Uh, is BV and GM part of Queenstown?
I would have placed them under Holland.Originally posted by iamgoondu:Sure, BV and GM and Dover are just neighbourhoods of Queenstown? And HDB has always lumped them into Queenstown. In HDB sales and valuations...
Anyway, not many are aware of this fact. Looking at ST classifieds, all HDB units in Holland, GM and Dover are placed under Clementi/West Coast section.
So what estate you had earlier thought BV and GM supposed to be?
I would like to see more services to the west.Originally posted by th1988:OK, since no one is interested in the HGN post. I will start the forum on Sengkang

From my observation, service 145 only has higher demand between Toa Payoh and North Bridge Rd (City Hall MRT) towards Buona Vista, and between Victoria St (Bugis Junction) and Toa Payoh towards Toa Payoh.Originally posted by th1988:Traffic and road conditions are second as I want to know the real demand as like I asked on 145.
