The lights are controlled by the battery but the a/c is run by the engine, unless some power for lightings are derived from the batt. Aiya that 181L is one problematic bus.Originally posted by ^tamago^:i think the air-con and lights are all under one switch, which prob is the control for all 'electrical' equipments in the bus as well.. as we can recall, there was no air-con controller on these O405s with a LCD screen stating the temperature so it is prob integrated with the rest of the 'electrical circuit'.. the interesting thing is that the TVMobile has its own switch as we see on the right of the driver (doors' switches area) as it was added on later..
Aiya 181L is problematic lah.Originally posted by tranquilice:The lights inside the bus are working well, it is the air con that is not working. The TV mobile is not switch on too.

I suppose he meant only SBS181L is problematic among the bus fleet...Impossible to have peeps waiting for 2 hours just for one Service 145 bus
Is possible if Chinatown area is EXTREMELY jammed up, like on CNY Eve.Originally posted by TIB822C:Hey there everyone

The trees there can't be chopped off due to conservation reasons.Originally posted by tranquilice:My english is bad.
Seriously, I don't think service 145 has any height restriction along the route. Some says there's a height restriction along Henderson Rd, I have been there many times but I don't see any restriction there. If the trees there do hinder the deployment of double deckers, back to this jokeask NParks to chop them off.
Service 145 should has the possibilty of using double deckers.
Or at least chop off the lower branches of the trees so that double deckers can pass safely.Originally posted by SBS9818A:The trees there can't be chopped off due to conservation reasons.
NParks insist they cannot be chopped for conservation reasons. So what can we do?Originally posted by tranquilice:Or at least chop off the lower branches of the trees so that double deckers can pass safely.
Are the tree branches along that part of Henderson Rd really that low?Originally posted by SBS9818A:NParks insist they cannot be chopped for conservation reasons. So what can we do?
Changi is not a nature reserve, but a large number of trees there has been marked for conservation. That goes the same for many other trees in Singapore, and some of them is right in the heart of the City area. Tree conservation is not about where it was planted, but more to when it was planted. We are talking about historical value rather than location.Originally posted by tranquilice:Are the tree branches along that part of Henderson Rd really that low?
What for conserve? The trees there are not like those on Mt Faber or Telok Blangah hill, considered as nature reserves.
Talking about Changi, services 2, 9 and 89 can use DD to ply the area, esp. for service 2 along Upp Changi Rd North as the trees are very near to the road. I think NParks has trimmed them to let a DD pass safely.Originally posted by Superbus:Changi is not a nature reserve, but a large number of trees there has been marked for conservation. Remember the uproar stirred when a construction company chopped down a 100+ year-old tree along Upper Changi Road North? The said tree is said to be the last one standing in Singapore's soil. That tree species gave Changi its name.
Cheers and warm regards
Yes, that's right. Now and then, the low-lying branches of the trees was chopped. If they can do it at Changi, no reason why they can't do it at other places. Trimming branches which posed hazard to the general public, even on a precious tree, cannot be compromised. But then again, we are talking about trimming trees for DDs to pass.Originally posted by tranquilice:Talking about Changi, services 2, 9 and 89 can use DD to ply the area, esp. for service 2 along Upp Changi Rd North as the trees are very near to the road. If NParks can trim the trees at Changi conservation area for a service 2 DD to pass, I'm interested to know why NParks has problems at other areas.Originally posted by Superbus:Yes, that's right.
