I thought it was perm on svc 190 and there is no bendies on 172?Originally posted by SBS9818A:838H is a Sv. 172 bus
Sv. 172 has been using O405Gs for at least 6 months now.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:I thought it was perm on svc 190 and there is no bendies on 172?
On which service was SBS6790 used on? All I know was that it spent its last years as a training bus. Its bodywork was from Metal Sections (Metsec) not Soon Chow. This confusion is caused by the fluting on the body which was a characteristic of the early Soon Chow bodywork. The same Metsec body, minus fluting, was used on 150 Mercedes OF1413s introduced in 1978-79.Originally posted by xin1jun2:well....
perhaps one might add that Demo Volvo B57 With soon chow body work SBS6790
or maybe that hino demonstator on service 20 called SBS4687

Think the Sv. 190 easy guide sticker has been remove.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Does the bus stil have 190 sticker( I mean the big bus guide)?
Sv. 172 has at least 3 O405Gs. It can pass through Old CCK Rd quite well.Originally posted by th1988:How can 172 have bendies, Old CCK Rd is very narrow, ADDs can pass through IMO
You'll be amazed by the manouverability of a Mercedes-Benz O405G. It could take corners as well as a regular 12m bus. Despite its length, its min. turning circle diameter is only 22m. ADDs can pass through but you'll have to trim those low hanging tree branches first.Originally posted by th1988:How can 172 have bendies, Old CCK Rd is very narrow, ADDs can pass through IMO
Yes, infact at the Woodlands Depot tour last year (The_Bus_Guide also present), we were told that some drivers find that Bendies are easier to drive and manouvure better than a 12m bus.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:You'll be amazed by the manouverability of a Mercedes-Benz O405G. Yup,Even my neighbours who is a TIBS captain agreed that the bendies are actually easy to take sharp bends but not narrow bends lah.Originally posted by off_service:Yes, infact at the Woodlands Depot tour last year (The_Bus_Guide also present), we were told that some drivers find that Bendies are easier to drive and manouvure better than a 12m bus.
I have taken a Habit on 172 before. The bus was still able to turn in spite of the sharp bend at Sungei Tengah Road and Bricklands Road. The only problem with having Habits on 172 occurs at Boon Lay Interchange when the driver will have problems reversing and turning out because of the many buses parked along the fences.Originally posted by th1988:How can 172 have bendies, Old CCK Rd is very narrow, ADDs can pass through IMO
