Since many of us here have sent letters/e-mails to SMRT/TIBS/SBST/LTA/PTC or whoever, I think it is better for all of us to publish the relevant letters/e-mails under one thread. This would make references much easier and hassle-free. I will start with an email I received from SBST a few days ago. Usually SBST replied my emails within 2 months. This email was replied after only one month. "Amazing"

Please allow us to explain that the said non air-conditioned bus was deployed due to some air-conditioned buses being recalled for repairs and rectification works at the Workshop on 08-01-2004. Thank you for your feedback we received on 3 Sept 2003.
2 We are sorry and regret to learn of the inconvenience caused to you while using Service 30.
3 Our checks revealed that the lapse of service you experienced on 2 Sept 2003 was due to traffic congestion along Teban Garden, which in turn, resulted in the turnaround time being lengthened, and thus the subsequent delay from Bedok Interchange.
4 Nevertheless, please be assured that we will continue to monitor the service closely with a view to ensure service reliability and where it is within our control, we will try our best to minimize service disruptions.
5 We hope to gain your understanding in the matter.

Looking at the underline paragraph, obviously the PTC is still unaware that the transitlink web potal is down..( does anyone know how long it been down?) If i m not wrong its almost a year....

Hence, links have been provided to the respective public transport operators' websites to assist commuters in the meantime.

I refer to your feedback concerning the recent bus rationalisation exercise in Dec 2003 along the Northeast Corridor, which was referred to PTC by MCDS on 2 Dec 2003.
With the operation of NEL, rationalisation of bus services is necessary to ensure the optimal use of resources and reduce
duplication within the entire public transport system. Rationalisation is also necessary to ensure a high degree of integration of the bus and rail systems and to maximise the usage of the new rail line. This will help to lower the overall cost of public transport and hence, keep the fares affordable to the public.
In approving bus service changes under the NEL rationalisation exercise, PTC exercised great care to minimize any negative impact on commuters while ensuring that alternative services or convenient transfers to other bus services and stations along the NEL are available to those who may be affected. In addition, we asked SBS Transit to monitor the situation closely and fine-tune the bus services where necessary.
You may be pleased to know that Integrated Public Transport information is already available in the Transitlink's website at www.transitlink.com.sg.You may make use of the website to plan your optimal journey by buses and trains around the island, for example, in term of minimum fare or shortest travel time. Alternatively, you may Contact Transitlink at 1800-7674333 for
travel enquires.
PTC is tasked to balance the interest of commuters with the long term financial viability of public transport operators. We are mindful of the impact of fare increases on commuters and will do our best to keep public transport fares affordable. For instance, bus and train fares are maintained at status quo this year in view of the poor economic situation.

currently svc 188 serves the stretch of route from WTC to clementi and we do not see the need to extned ZYX10 to clementi int.
and also there is svc 97 from Clementi (AYE) to suntec
howver if u are wants to go to east side from clementi u cd try taking svc 14 or 7 or 196 or 36 (from Bouna vusta).

We wish to assure you that we have noted your suggestion to convert part of the route of Service 61 to ply via the expressways; changing the terminating point for Service 106 and to have services to Toa Payoh, Bishan, St Michael's, Punggol or Pasir Ris. We do not have any immediate plans to amend their routes or introduce new services at the moment. However, we will give it due consideration where feasible in future.
We would like to explain that currently there is a link between Bukit Panjang and Tampines. Passengers can take Service 67 from Tampines to Upper Bukit Timah Road. From there, it is only a short distance walk to reach Bukit Panjang. Alternatively, they can alight at Ten Mile Junction and transfer to LRT to reach Bukit Panjang. It is not always possible to provide direct links to all places around the island. In the absence of a direct link, a transfer is necessary and the existing fare structure facilitates this by providing a transfer rebate to minimise the cost of making a transfer.
With the completion of the Circle Line, there may be network rationalisation. However, at this moment, it is still premature to comment on this.
It is indeed a pleasure ot know that you enjoy travelling on our bendy buses. We regret to inform you that we are not able to transfer two Mercedes Benz Volgren articulated buses to other interchanges as requested. We will consider it when we review our bus deployment plan in future.

SBST is starting to pull up its socks on its feedback unit, as i had noticed.
For once, they sent me an acknowledgement whithin the corporate norms of 3working days!!!!!! -
I board a svc 38 bus on Monday. I knew the driver when he drives 290. He told me that Tibs is cosidering to operate new services in Hougang Central interchange. He also said that SBST had test using DD and long bus in Simei Estate. As the road for turning too narrow, SBST decided not to deploy DD and long bus on 38.

BELOW IS THE SUGGESTION I WROTE
I am making a suggestion on route 188. If possible, I hope that you can
make adjustments to the route. Instead of plying through Choa Chu Kang
Way
after going out of the interchange, maybe TIBS could adjust it to ply
through
Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4,
Choa Chu Kang Drive,
Teck Whye Avenue then
Bt Batok Rd onwards.
That way, it would be more profitable for TIBS as many people live in
that
area instead of the CCK Way area. I hope you will consider into making
these changes.

Yes it must be done to protect one's privacy and confidentiality. We all might know the person but there are those who have not heard of the name before. If something happens because one publish his/her name, the rest wouldn't want to be dragged into the matter. Before that or anything crude happens, we should not publish the names.
