Sightseeing on S'pore public Buses & Trains

  Need your kind help here,Guys.
  My cousin and his friend from new zealand are coming to s'pore this 21st for a vacation.At first thought i have wanted to rent a car but they insist on taking the public transport instead.I too had lost my bus guide so i can't really remember which interesting places to visit or what services to take.They also want me to bring them from end to end which is tiring of course.Need your recommendation what services to take and which interesting places to go.My ideas is to start from>East end,Northeast,Central,City of course,West to Westend and north.As for trains.I'm not really sure.
  Types of visiting places>Shopping ctr,Games & Recreation,Leisure,Zoo,Animal or reptiles parks,Museum,Discos,Pubs,Food ctr or Anything that interesting.
  Also they are on vacation for at least 7 to 10 days.

  I propose the following public transport journeys..
  
  Take Svc 143 from Toa Payoh Int to Jurong East. Show them the lovely public housing HQ. Svc 143 is a DD Svc passing through CBD area, Harbourfront, and the west coast. From Jurong East, take MRT northbound back to Toa Payoh. This showcases public housing all the way.
  
  After that long winding journey, most likely they will not want to take public transport in Sg for further sightseeing!
