Purchase of new Merz CNG OC.500LE with Volgren Bodywork
CBS is pleased to announce the purchase of the above-mentioned buses. These buses will hit the roads by late-June and ALL of them will be based in JEDEP. JEDEP will also have its own Natural Gas refuelling station in the depot itself.
The first delivery of the buses will be in from Perth, Australia by Saturday 15th May 2004. The buses will have to undergo tests so that each of them would be deemed suitable to be put on the roads.
P.S: Exact numbers are still not known. However, at least 40 will be brought to Singapore from Perth.

Moving it further down would inconvenience pax, as they have to walk long way to reach the overhead bridge. -

With effect from 16th May 2004, CBS goes to Sengkang & Hougang with 8 new services in Sengkang: CBS70 CBS71 CBS72 CBS73 CBS74 CBS75 CBS76 CBS77; and 8 new services in Hougang: CBS81 CBS82 CBS83 CBS84 CBS85 CBS86 CBS87 CBS88.

Meanwhile launch date for TransCorp has been tentatively slated for 1 June 2004. Will start off with my home territory with the takeover of 3 CBS bus services: 57, 58, 59. Still negotiating with suppliers on the bus fleets.

ZYxbus bring ing back the links
currently we all know 608 goes to kallang MRT area and then to national stadium due to the nicoll highway collpase. ZYXbus sees a bit of route duplication going on (seeing that ZYX11 demand had dropped)
so ZYXbus will take this chance to withdraw ZYX11
and instead service ZYX608 will be rebranded as ZYX11 still charging CSS fares. the new ZYX11 will then temprorary take the current amended route due to nicoll highway collpase with the slight change that now ZYX11 calls at geylang lor 1 ter (turn in turn out)
in due course, the orginal sbst service 11 will return but in its very original bus number 46. so look out for introduction of ZYX46 after the highway is fixed.

ZYxbus brings back more bus services
1) first of all ZYX bus 60 which serves eunos to bedok will be ceded over to KGbus...
we hope KGbus will take over operations of this bus service which consisted of 385 and 226 integrated 2getherto form 60.
meanwhile ZYX60 will continue operating until a complete handover to KGbus is achieved

2) extension of ZYX158 to toa payoh
ZYx158 will no longer end at serangoon int. instead the bus will be amended to ply down upp sgoon road, then extned onwards towards toa payoh via braddel road and lor 6.
with this ZYX158 will help to reduce the loads on ZYX153 and CBs ?? lolz
also i find it insane that a 15x bus shoulkd end at sgoon int =P
meanwhile ZYXbus wishes to infom that the propsed renumebring of 158 has been cancelled.
3) introduction of new ZYX45
ZYX45: BEDOK - TG RHU RD (LOOP)
route detials:
via: Bedok int, Chai chee street, CHai chee drive, Changi road, telok kerau road, joo Chait place, Joo chait road, dunman road, old airport road, Stadium boulevard, stadium rd, nicoll highway (express), mountbatten road. fort road, tg rhu road (loop)
with the introduction of ZYX45 many links were introduced for tg rhu peeps espcially a crucial link to Stadium station. also chai chee peeps now choose between bedok and kembangan stn to connect to MRT
note a service 45 existed serving this route in 1980 except the chai chee amndment.

the demand on this service is high during peak hours. so hence a short working looping bus 159A is will be introduced on may 24 to help ease the load.
ZYX159A; SENGKANG - ANG MO KIO AVE 8 and st 41
via 159 route till amk ave 8. the bus will call at amk mrt bus stop then make a nice loop by goign more along amk ave 8,, turn into st 41, go along st 42, come out at amk ave 3. and then turn right to amk ave 8. bus stops will be errected along st 41 and 42 to better serve the peeps there....
this is a full loop revenue service so pax cna stay on the bus when the bus loops around amk N4

heard that CBS bus wants to set up a GPS network.
would take some time now to describe the ZYXbus GPS network systems
control centre:
located at all depots. each depot controls its buses and buses are kept to within to 3 mins of its timetable.In the evnt that a control centre computers fails...another depot takes over operations immediately.
(GPS alert system)
since the GPS alert system is fully computerised, the system will send alert messages (or update the indiactor line) via GPS to drivers alerting of how late or early they are. in normal mode drivers just peek at a indicator line at the bottem of the computer screen of the GPS headset in bus. a blue line indicates too early . a green line means just right. red line means u r late!.
in computer programming terms blue: 2 mins too early
green 3 mins within schedule
red - 2 mins too late

every bus has a in-bus GPS head set. the headset allows drivers to download destos (EDS), chat to other drivers (lolz), GPS alert system , downlaod in bus LCD display scrolling detaisl.. the headset also doubles up as the register like in sbst buses.drivers touch screen to issue cash paying bus tix thru the thing.
mobitec EDS systems on some ZYXbus are also integrated with this GPS head set thingy.
the headset includes: a flat screen display that includes a touch screen function, CPU, keyboard.
the GPS system will automatically run the "in bus LCD system" . that means the in bus LCD system is connected to GPS to update details for next bus stop. it is very accurate.(in bus LCD system is this 2 line LCD screen in all ZYXbus that shows next stop detials and bus stopping)
of course the GPS system automatically updates fare stages on the ticketing equipment
the GPS system also programmed to calculate fares thru the EZ link system. (GPS is linked to EZ link fare collection system)
good for revenue checks lolz
most bus stops in singapore have next bus arriving display (ZYXbus)
eg: next bus: SERVICE 111 4 mins ZYX7005T
malcolm: u will find that the 40 Vo3x u got from my co has these features still enabled..lolz
hope u did not remove the in bus GPS head set at the driver dash...

note: ZYXbus also uses farecard validators still. these have been integrated to GPS also
