I understand how you feel. I depend on service 962 too and have seen the need for some complementary service to help.Originally posted by AzRaeL:but if there was a direct bus, all the better.
besides it sucks that there's ONLY one service plying this route along Chung Cheng High (North Branch)
yup but ZYX859 is suposed o pick up stranded pax who cd not get on ZYX89 (loyang there hee) to go PSR. everytime i on 89 see lots of pax long mouth when bus full alreay go past loyang aveOriginally posted by delonchew:More than often enough, I think the loads on 89 is due to staff from Changi Airport Cargo Terminal and the Tekong boys. So, terminating ZYX859 at Changi Village isn't going to help much with 89's loads. The thing about 89 is that it provides a very direct route from Pasir Ris MRT to Changi Airport Cargo Terminal/SAF Ferry Terminal, that's why people prefer taking 89.
Anyway, I won't complain about ZYX859 simply because it provides me a very direct service to Sembawang!
i purposely made that error lahOriginally posted by service_238:I pointed out the mouthbatten rd error on the 21 guide yesterday. here u are making that error.
Guys, its Mountbatten Rd, not mouthbatten rd.
P.S This post has many typos.

We can't do that, that would not be a townlink anymore, this bus is supposed to link Bukit Panjang, 50%of CCK & 50% of Bt Batok. It is called TOWNLINK as it links Towns. 177 does not go in to CCK. And to amend it, a lot of frequent commuters on that svc might complain due to a LOT of inconvenience.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Why not admend 177 route?
But you forget the real definition of a Townlink service. Townlink services are intra-town services, which means they connect different parts of the same town.Originally posted by cck_190:We can't do that, that would not be a townlink anymore, this bus is supposed to link Bukit Panjang, 50%of CCK & 50% of Bt Batok. It is called TOWNLINK as it links Towns. 177 does not go in to CCK. Well, I do know that, but I can't think of any other name for that. Besides, in real meaning, not SBST meaning the definition of townlink means Linking Towns with each other. In this case this Town Link links three town.Originally posted by Superbus:But you forget the real definition of a Townlink service. Your "Townlink" 979 is more like inter-town service, as it serves Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Batok. These 3 towns are on its own.
Cheers and warm regards
Its too circuitious.. i realised my service 20 drivers needs to drive for at least 1 hr 30 min during the tripOriginally posted by cck_190:Well, I do know that, but I can't think of any other name for that. Maybe I should say it as Link 979, would that sound better???
Anyway, what do you think of the route? Is it great?
Oh ok, I see your point now. Good idea.Originally posted by xin1jun2:yup but ZYX859 is suposed o pick up stranded pax who cd not get on ZYX89 (loyang there hee) to go PSR. everytime i on 89 see lots of pax long mouth when bus full alreay go past loyang ave

No, it's not too circuitous. If u r living in this area, you would know. It actually takes around 1 hr for a driver to drive according to my calculationsOriginally posted by service_238:Its too circuitious.. i realised my service 20 drivers needs to drive for at least 1 hr 30 min during the trip

i've done a preliminary bus schedule for the first few hours of operation.. YUpz....almost there....xcept this is far less circuitous and has an express sector along CCK rd.Originally posted by cck_190:Isn't this the former 989 route???![]()
there might be a double decker problem...Originally posted by Yusry:For me, I'd love to see service 97 use the following route instead of AYE between Clementi and North Buona Vista Roads
Jurong East - Marina Centre
...AYE - (Clementi Road) - Kent Ridge Crescent - Lower Kent Ridge Road - (North Buona Vista Road) - AYE...
And vice versa in the direction towards Jurong East.
Nope, personally I feel there will be no problem for the bus. As for the drivers, they may feel stressed driving a DD uphill and downhill and considering that Kent Ridge Crescent and Lower Kent Ridge Road are quite narrow, it may make them more uptight. The bridge at Kent Ridge Hall which used to have a height limit of 3.5m (?) has been removed.Originally posted by service_238:there might be a double decker problem...
Originally posted by delonchew:The first route seems more feasible. Service 962 serves a total of 6 schools in Sembawang:
As mentioned by someone in this thread that there was (probably) a need for another service to serve Sembawang Drive (personally I feel there is a need too because of the 2 secondary schools, CCHS North and Riverside), I have came up with an extended route of 859. I am not sure whether it is feasible or not.
Original 859
Yishun Central 1, Yishun Ave 5, Sembawang Road, Canberra Road, Sembawang Vista, Sembawang Drive, Admiralty Drive, Sembawang Crescent, Sembawang Drive, Sembawang Vista, Canberra Road, Sembawang Road, Yishun Ave 5, Yishun Ave 2, Yishun Central 1
Amended 859 (version 1)
Yishun Central 1, Yishun Ave 5, Sembawang Road, Canberra Road, Sembawang Vista, Sembawang Drive, Admiralty Street (loop), Sembawang Drive, Admiralty Drive, Sembawang Crescent, Sembawang Drive, Sembawang Vista, Canberra Road, Sembawang Road, Yishun Ave 5, Yishun Ave 2, Yishun Central 1
This route basically follows 962 route from Sun Plaza until Admiralty Drive.
Amended 859 (version 2)
Yishun Central 1, Yishun Ave 5, Sembawang Road, Canberra Road, Sembawang Vista, Sembawang Drive, Admiralty Link, Admiralty Lane, Sembawang Drive, Admiralty Drive, Sembawang Crescent, Sembawang Drive, Sembawang Vista, Canberra Road, Sembawang Road, Yishun Ave 5, Yishun Ave 2, Yishun Central 1
Unsure of the feasibility of this route because I am not familiar with Admiralty Link and Admiralty Lane.
None of the bus stops / pedestrian crossings are on gradients, so DDs should be okay. If the DDs can do it in NTU, I don't forsee a problem for the DDs in NUS.Originally posted by service_238:there might be a double decker problem...
Yusry, you from SoC? I am studying there now. Haha.Originally posted by Yusry:None of the bus stops / pedestrian crossings are on gradients, so DDs should be okay. If the DDs can do it in NTU, I don't forsee a problem for the DDs in NUS.
Of all bus stops in NUS, only the northbound Computer Centre bus stop is a bit scary, even for the SDs (both SBST and Comfort) - but the proposed 97 does not go here.
This could be where articulated buses shine in, so 963 could take over that route change instead of 97.
I'm a lazy fool.Just wanna a nice link from School of Computing to Telok Blangah where I can then change to Service 30. I guess once you are out of NS, you get lazier and lazier.
