Sensor out of order?Originally posted by th1988:I once took a Tibs bus and the exit was not closed till bus was already 10m away from BS! Also driver don't look at mirror when bus is packed, he rely on the sound from the card reader. But some SBS drivers look at the side mirror as well.
Why must the bus companies transfer the expenses on the mentioned investment to the commuters?Originally posted by iamgoondu:it could be just another justification for bus companies to raise bus fares. The need to invest safety gadgets on buses!
Where do you think the monies should come from then? from shareholders funds?Originally posted by tranquilice:Why must the bus companies transfer the expenses on the mentioned investment to the commuters?
It will malfunction in a sense.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:.
Most of the time it does. The sensor, if the circuit is working, will sense an obstruction in the doorway. What will happen is that the door will not close no matter how many times or how hard the driver presses the button. The driver have to wipe away the condenmsation b4 it can close. This problem is rampant among TIB's MB0405 Hispanos for unknown reasons.
Why not?Originally posted by iamgoondu:Where do you think the monies should come from then? from shareholders funds?
Bus companies need to justify their needs to up the fares, and a safety and comfort ride may pose as an excuse for them to do so.
With introduction of Ez-link communters need to ensure they remeber to tap of the reader and check the right amount of bus fare is detucted. Dangerous situation occur when ones tries to get up the bus again to tap on the reader if he/she forgets to tap. Sensor are not flexible enough, maybe they should consider installing camera in addition to the sensor... at least the driver could check before closing. I have seen such gagets in the NUS shuttle bus...Originally posted by tranquilice:
