tibs indeed introduced many good routes but one thing i hate tibs is their longer waiting times than sbstransit.not all tibs bus have longer waiting times though,but most have longer waiting times than sbstransit buses.if i were to choose,i would choose sbstransit for better waiting times and tibs for good planning of bus routes.

SBST definately has the better buses and seats! but TIBS are better in management.

IMHO:
TIBS is much better thna SBS. in terms of buses.
SBS buses are most of them to be very old and some of my fav buses are not doing the shakies: eg: Scania N113CRB, Lo3x, Merc0405s 9some)
TIBS is more reliable than SBS in terms of SBS. SBS service 197 never turns up one. i cna die waiting for it. but TIBS963 is good and everyday without fail i see the bus.
SBS rat hole is NEL...poor ridership...cause of many withdrawls of buses...... 9see my sign offs)
TIBS withdrew 989. bad move.

In addition, SBST good buses are the mark 2. mark 4 , VO 2/3 axles and VSO and mercedes. ScaniaN113CRB I used to hate them, but now I dont mind them but I still dont like them. LO 3 axles is the worst bus in SBST's fleet.
TIBS ? I only like the habit and volgren bendy. I am not impressed with the other bus types. Hino Volgren and mercedes volgren buses are pretty alright. -

I don't wish to start a flame war here, but my vote definitely goes to SBST.
After living in TIBS controlled area for quite some time, i found that their feeder routes planning sux big time, esp in Yishun. Also, im quite pissed off at waiting for like 15mins in the morning and then get stuck in a very packed and stuffy bus.
On the other hand, SBST knows its limitations, unlike TIBS by taking up the huge CHC charter business. At least it knows how and when to deploy buses.......i simply luv svc 74 at 5 mins per bus! Their feeder is also very extensive, look at TPY and AMK and Bedok.
Moreover, SBST also won over my heart by introducing svc 39 last August with friendly drivers who dun bat an eyelid about overtaking 0405s on the TPE, even with a mk3. -

If im living in the west and studying at NUS, i will be ultra happy at SBST!!!! They deploy LO3-Ax on svc 97 at a high freq of <5mins per bus twds Jurong East, while i have to wait like 35mins tdy for 971E tdy and try to stuff myself into the bus cos an ELBO earlier skipped the bus stop as it was full!!! Took tibs 855 to work today and when I boarded the bus, the bus driver greeted me "good morning". I was a bit stun cause seldom see drivers greet people when they board the bus. He said that to everyone who boarded the bus. Hehe, really make a good start to my day.

Service 963 is it? Actually, I dislike the frequency of 963, especially in the evenings. I always have to squeeze myself up the bus when I am boarding outside NUS. They actually deploy the bendies at 4+ and 6+ passing thru AYE twds WRI, where the load is not as high as compared to 5+!!! Where Alexandra workers and NUS students and ITE dover students knock off! -

Try svc 169 with the very famous KS Foo ( he really is very kiasu with driving ..... chiong like siao the last few times i sat it )
Or my darling Svc 806 TIB1164L with W S Leong. Always greet me in the morning and ask me how's school when i return at the end of the day
There is one particluar young mk3 driver on 39 that also greets pax as they board but i forgot the rego already. will try to find out and post -
Dun forget when u was still young, many residents up north are very pissed off when TIBS removed and diverted quite a number of svcs due to the Woodlands extension!!! This sore thing will pass soon enough. Many Yishunites were damn pissed when TIBS removed Svc 850 to force people to the MRT, when the extension to Yishun was completed.
