North Boat Quay that 32 plied did not exist in 1985, which is why 12 went by Upper Circular Road (which, heading west, is after the river, while NBQ is before the river) -

The other possibility, without checking the relevant street directory, River Valley Road and Upp Circular St formed a very wide road junction along with Eu Tong Sen St. Thus, there was no "right" turn. -

Service 27
. The route currently plies from sengkang to changi airport. Too much winding around in hougang area. And even in the old 27 route, (from tampines to changi airport), it still sux, as there is really ALOT ALOT of winding around tampines. It can take 30 minutes during peak hours to get out of TAMPINES TOWN to hit the expressways! -
On the contrary, the original rt. 27 (Tampines - Changi Airport, around 1990) was as direct as it could be. It went via Tampines Ave 5 then entered the PIE to Changi Airport. In fact, before the opening of the CGA line, taking the MRT to Tampines and then transfer to 27 was the best way to get to Changi Airport.Originally posted by SBS9845X:Service 27 . Winding around Tampines? It just cuts through it in quite a direct way, after getting off the PIE it goes on Ave 5, Ave 4, Ave 7, Ave 9 and Ave 10...quite a direct route to the TPE except it could be made shorter by following Sv 969...Originally posted by SBS9845X:Service 27 . BTW as for the topic...let me contribute some more routes...
Service 51...Hougang - Eunos - City - Alexandra - Pasir Panjang - Jurong East, what a nightmare....maybe let it go from Hougang - City in a more direct route or quit the city altogether like most of the Northeast - West services
Service 82...who want to go to Punggol Rd End anyway? Might as well shorten to Punggol Temp Int
Service 93...this route is about three times longer than it can be...very longwinded...Eunos - Bartley - Braddell - MacRitchie Area - Alexandra - HarbourFront...already got Sv 28 from Eunos - Braddell with Sv 165 from MacRitchie - Alexandra...Might as well make it go the most direct Eunos - City - HarbourFront...
BTW doesnt Sv 14 duplicate Sv 10 from Bedok Rd all the way to Nicoll Highway? Maybe Sv 14 can be removed..I'm sure there are other services duplicating other parts of its route too...
