Reminds me of service 85.....Originally posted by th1988:I was thinking of that too
I saw an NAC WA Mk 2 at Orchard. Just this week, I saw NAC Mk 2 at Upp Serangoon Road. Both have desto "Training Bus"
Who knows that 85 may be back as peak hr service.Originally posted by Yusry:Reminds me of service 85.....![]()
By any chance the MK2 rego is SBS 18XX? I saw one from HarbourFront, with a driver and a technician or someone...Originally posted by th1988:I was thinking of that too

Later they add another 6 between the number 8 and 5, then 865Originally posted by delonchew:I suspect 85 may make a comeback because the signboard at Harbourfront which has "85 SENGKANG" was not removed. Even during the berth shifting, this signboard was not removed or dumped. Instead, it is now moved to the berths between 855 and 188.
I saw along Pasir Panjang Rd...Originally posted by cck_190:Lately, I saw some TIBS training buses too.
Part of the route is of 188. But I do not know which it interchange it starts from. Any idea?![]()
I saw a SBST 0405 AC training bus along Upp Serangoon Rd (near Hougang Central) this afternoon.Originally posted by th1988:I was thinking of that too

Is there any possibility that Tibs extends service 189 to HarbourFront?Originally posted by off_service:I saw along Pasir Panjang Rd...
Possible.. But if I am not wrong, the bus they used is from TIBS Ang Mo Kio Depot. That's why I am very puzzled.Originally posted by tranquilice:Is there any possibility that Tibs extends service 189 to HarbourFront?![]()
From what I notice, SBST drivers do not need to pay when taking TIBS buses and vice versa.Originally posted by iamgoondu:I had seen training buses at BV terminal sometime ago, and nothing happen. As such, I never associate new services with training bus. To me, it's could be just a familiar ride to new drivers.
Last night saw 2 SBST drivers (on uniforms) taking ride (at front seats) on TIBS 61. It' s kind of strange, as I doubt SBST drivers would rather not pay for bus fares by taking SBST buses.
TIBS is embarking on a recruitment drive? TIBS had better benefits that could attract SBST drivers??? Hope that wouldn't spiral into an unhealthy competition, which bus companies up their skates to recruit bus captains.
You are right. Either they work at the same bus interchange / terminal or know each other, else they have to pay.Originally posted by iamgoondu:From what I understand, SBST executives receive free rides only on SBST buses. Likewise TIBS executives receive free rides only on TIBS buses.
I doubt SBST bus captains receive free rides on TIBS buses. Unless they know each other.
Their corporate staff has this pass as well. So that co can keep track of their travelling detailsOriginally posted by off_service:You are right. Either they work at the same bus interchange / terminal or know each other, else they have to pay.
Also I notice now when SBST bus captains take free rides to somewhere, they have to scan their card at the ez-link reader. Anyone knows what it is for?
Nope. SBST drivers have to pay on TIBS buses legally, but since they are in the same profession many times they get on for free and begin chatting about work.Originally posted by delonchew:From what I notice, SBST drivers do not need to pay when taking TIBS buses and vice versa.
Is it too long winded? I would like TIBS 855 to be extended to Kent Ridge however with the following changes:Originally posted by off_service:I'm thinking I saw a AMKDEP bus along Pasir Panjang Road.. Perhaps extension of sv 855 to Kent Ridge? Is it possible?
Not possible in my opinion, passengers along Pasir Panjang can take service 51 to Queensway and service 176 to Bt Merah. Also nearby there is service 93.Originally posted by off_service:I'm thinking I saw a AMKDEP bus along Pasir Panjang Road.. Perhaps extension of sv 855 to Kent Ridge? Is it possible?
