Tibs to operate bus service to Johor Bahru

According to the "Lian He Wan Bao" (chinese newspaper), Tibs has been given permission to operate a service from Woodlands Regional Interchange to Johor Bahru Kota Raya Bus Terminal.
At least 20 buses will be utilised for this service.
Date of commencement is not mentioned in the article. -
Great news! Another operator to JB!
Will this be the opportunity for TIBS to launch its newest batch of low floor buses, said to be the Scania L94UB?
We just have to wait and see. Great news indeed!

The relevant authorities from Malaysia has granted permission for TIBS to start new service. Now they are awaiting reply from the LTA. -

There are already 2 services operated by 2 operators at Kranji MRT. I support Tibs plan to operate the service from WRI, so that passengers from JB going to WRI and vice-versa do not have to alight at Woodlands Centre Rd to transfer. -
so what would be the possible route no and the route used if implemented ?what about the possible bus models deployed on this service?

In the initial stages, I believe Mercedes O405s and Scania L113 WA from WLDEP will be used.
If say the demand for the service increases, Hinos from Kranji Depot and Lances from Ang Mo Kio Depot will join in to beef up the service. -
must also take note that buses with 3rd brake light need apply..tt is probably all the volgren bodies buses..bendies are very unlikely..

Prior issuing the license to TIBS, PTC (or LTA) should be assured of no service deteroriation of other TIBS services.
If TIBS are not able to provide effficient and accepting standard (enough buses plying on each of its route) on its existing services, it should be asked to improve its existing services prior given new routes.
Where does TIBS going to get its 20 buses to ply on the new service? TIBS must not always seek to increase its revenue, and continue to ignore the long and irregular waiting times on some of its services.
The most notorious are TIBS 106 and TIBS 61. -
tibs do not have enough buses already for singapore routes.wonder where are tibs going to find 20 extra buses.hope tibs will buy new buses not just for the route to johor baru but also for singapore routes.

As for the concerns raising from some bus fans that there might not be enough buses on the road for basic bus services, I personally think that Tibs might do the following to ensure they got enough buses:
1. Get new buses.
We might not know but they may have ordered new buses and due to arrive 3/4Q this year.
2. Service changes
Some services may be merged into one service as intratown (do it the SBST style?) to release buses. If they do this, I think most of the services will be from AMK/WDL depots.
3. Utilise the PA Lances
The PA Lances would be used for regular services. If this happens, the Lances would either be re-registered into TIB plates or simply provide Woodlands Regional Interchange - Woodlands / JB checkpoints - JB Kota Raya express services. -

I personally think that the bus service number would be either Service 950, 968 or 990. But I think most likely it would be Service 950. As for the buses, I dont know what Tibs' thinking anyway :S They already dont have enough bus drivers, to state the fact

Wohoo! Finally, my fav bus company is going to introduce a service to JB! I've been toying around wif this idea for a long time... I mean, i was like asking myself: Why, Tibs, the default bus operator in WDL never introduce sv to JB while SBST has 170 for so many yrs and a real cash cow?! Well, i'm glad Tibs took the initiative to finally make this move but i just hope they're able to cope if the demand rises... I do admit they have trouble wif the deployment of buses on high demand routes.... Well, whatever it is, Hooray! I do look forward very, very much when they officially launch the service, hopefully in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this yr.
