Ivecos don't seem popular here. I'd love to see bus companies bring in new Scanias. 3641 is the Sv. 222 bus with a Ribena ad, right?Originally posted by iveco:Hope they will not retire the Scania 113s so soon. They are still good, especially 3641, and make good feeder buses in the East.
But bring on the Ivecos. They are not well known south of the causeway. The Klang valley has hundreds of them. The Iveco with Walter Alexander bodywork will look better than those with DRH-Hicom ones in KL. They really look strange.

The IVECO TurboCity isn't a very popular citybus. Apart from the Klang Valley you can't find them anywhere else in the region. If I'm not mistaken the buses were CBUs (Completely Built Up) and its design is similar to the ones in Italy.Originally posted by iveco:Hope they will not retire the Scania 113s so soon. MAN NL252s? That isn't too bad, IMO. Yes the TurboCity was CBU, and I've seen many units in Italy.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The IVECO TurboCity isn't a very popular citybus. If we gotta have new buses, why not MAN? I don't know why these awesome buses are looked over by TIBS and SBST.
MAN NL263 with Caetano body is my dream bus,Spare parts are cheaper than most MBs.Maybe they got a close relationship with MBs & Volvos respectivelyOriginally posted by The_Bus_Guide:If we gotta have new buses, why not MAN? I don't know why these awesome buses are looked over by TIBS and SBST.
The N113 is no longer in production. B10Ms aren't low floor, and thus not suitable for disabled access. MAN do use Merc parts like the dashboards and axles.Originally posted by iveco:MAN and Merc cannot co-exist. The rear wheel patterns of the 18-280s are too that of the O405s.
Can't the Turbocities be fitted with Walter Alexander bodywork? And TIbs could use B10M artics (Volgren, with ramps for disabled access) too.
Hey, how about Scania N113 DDs with disabled access? They would look great with Duple Metsec bodywork.
TIBS has Smiley Volgren CITAROS, mainly serve the west.Originally posted by gynobcard:MB citaros are cool! check out www.londonbuspage.com
SBS and TIBS should seriously consider them
TIBS do not have Citaros. Those are the second batch of Hispano-bodied "Box" Bendy buses. The front of these Bendy buses is similar to those of the Citaros. That explains why TIBS used the "" on the website.Originally posted by cck_190:TIBS has Smiley Volgren CITAROS, mainly serve the west.
Those are O405Gs. Singapore does not have a true Citaro. Citaros are low-floor, the O405Gs aren't. The bodywork for the "Citaros" (973A-1001Z) are by Hispano, not by Volgren.Originally posted by cck_190:TIBS has Smiley Volgren CITAROS, mainly serve the west.
There are no Volvo artics as I know of. Scania L94UAs are a possible bet. The Lynx is based in AMDEP and still operates on EB88.Originally posted by iveco:Does Tibs intend to buy true Citaros?
BTW another thread says that Citaros are fire-prone. Maybe Volvo artics may be a better acquisition.
Also, what happened to the Leyland Lynx? Which depot is it from?
The Leyland Lynx is based in Ang Mo Kio Depot. It served services 24, 106, 267 and 269 before. Lately the bus was not seen and it's EB service is taken over by a Scania N113CRB.Originally posted by iveco:Does Tibs intend to buy true Citaros?

I mean they have cotaro bodies, sorry for not being specific.Originally posted by Superbus:TIBS do not have Citaros. Those are the second batch of Hispano-bodied "Box" Bendy buses. The front of these Bendy buses is similar to those of the Citaros. That explains why TIBS used the "" on the website.
The Volgren Bendy buses are based at WLDEP.
Cheers and warm regards
TIBS "Citaro" is not a true Citaro. It merely look like a Citaro. I think the Citaros are not bodied by Hispano, which bodied all of TIBS' buses.Originally posted by cck_190:I mean they have cotaro bodies, sorry for not being specific.![]()
Yes, I know. A fake citaro, only the front part looks like itOriginally posted by off_service:TIBS "Citaro" is not a true Citaro. It merely look like a Citaro. I think the Citaros are not bodied by Hispano, which bodied all of TIBS' buses.
I think the Volvo B7L artic is still in production. I'm not too sure about the Volvo B10L CNG artic.Originally posted by SBS9818A:There are no Volvo artics as I know of. Scania L94UAs are a possible bet. The Lynx is based in AMDEP and still operates on EB88.
The Citaros have VoV bodies, if I'm not wrong.Originally posted by off_service:TIBS "Citaro" is not a true Citaro. It merely look like a Citaro. I think the Citaros are not bodied by Hispano, which bodied all of TIBS' buses.
