Maybe SBST will buy these bus models:
[b]Mercedes Benz Citaro Ü
Mercedes Benz Conneto H
Tibs have high dependency on Mercs. They could bring them in after they have disposed of their SB220s and CRLs.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Wait long long. With SBST dependency on Volvo it looks like they'll have Volvos for the rest of their operations.
Maybe not. TIBS tend to buy buses that suit their needs. It's just that the O405Gs happen to fill this requirement.Originally posted by iveco:Tibs have high dependency on Mercs. They could bring them in after they have disposed of their SB220s and CRLs.
It is easy to guess the answer out.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Of course I know HK uses the MAN 24.310, but there are no 2-axle versions from what I know of.
Then maybe Volvos fit SBST's requirements?Originally posted by SBS9818A:Maybe not. TIBS tend to buy buses that suit their needs. It's just that the O405Gs happen to fill this requirement.
In my opinion, no. Many drivers have said they prefer O405s to B10Ms. IMO, the O405 offers a much better ride for drivers and pax. Plus with the additional standing room, can make more money if full. I really don't understand what SBST is doing sometimes.Originally posted by leeJZ:Then maybe Volvos fit SBST's requirements?
Then cant they remove seats in the Volvos?Originally posted by SBS9818A:In my opinion, no. If you opened your eyes wider and paid more attention, you would notice that the seats on B10M are always elevated from aisle height. Explain to me then, how can they have extra standing room?Originally posted by leeJZ:Then cant they remove seats in the Volvos?
The era of 2x DD buses is passe. This is the age of ADDs, which means 3x DD buses. It is good to see the 24-310s alongside the VSOs and Tridents.Originally posted by sneezelam:It is easy to guess the answer out.
How can a bus with a full loading of 24tonnes can fit with ONLY 2 axles?
If that's happened, the axles must be VERY STRONG enough to support.![]()
ok...Originally posted by SBS9818A:If you opened your eyes wider and paid more attention, you would notice that the seats on B10M are always elevated from aisle height. Explain to me then, how can they have extra standing room?
They have corporate links which each other.Originally posted by leeJZ:ok...
but dont you think SBST chose Volvos for a reason? Maybe they always give discounts?
No such things as discount. Discount would amount to corruption. SBST buy Volvo because their parent company is the sole Volvo Bus distributor in SG.Originally posted by leeJZ:ok...

OK that is the reason then...why do you still say you dont understand why SBST buys Volvo?Originally posted by SBS9818A:No such things as discount. Discount would amount to corruption. SBST buy Volvo because their parent company is the sole Volvo Bus distributor in SG.
The era for 2x DD is just passed in Hong Kong and Singapore, but not UK XDDDD, however, as I know, those MAN and Neoplan in Hong Kong are always overheated......So....they are really not good as what you think.Originally posted by iveco:The era of 2x DD buses is passe. Overheated due to too much insulation or stress from urban driving?Originally posted by sneezelam:The era for 2x DD is just passed in Hong Kong and Singapore, but not UK XDDDD, however, as I know, those MAN and Neoplan in Hong Kong are always overheated......So....they are really not good as what you think.
For those Neoplan Centroliners, they are excellent Super BASS Sound makers.......BAD!
I have no idea. Since I am not an expert.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Overheated due to too much insulation or stress from urban driving?
Does that mean all MAN buses are prone to overheating?Originally posted by sneezelam:I have no idea. Since I am not an expert. But I do think that's not a reason, as those Neoplan Centroliner s are mainly serving Expressway routes.
