Different directionsOriginally posted by cck_190:What's the diff?
Correction. 225W and 225G does not have the same bus stops at any point. They travel along the same route but from different directions and thus, their bus stops are never the same.Originally posted by freakybuses:Different directions
Eg svc 73 and 136... same bus stops for both directions but for the passengers convenience, need to have different coloured plates.
Only 284's route has remained intact for more than 25 years... Clementi Int - Clementi Ave 4Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:How about 225? Is it stilll around? It has remained unchanged from 1980. 220, apart from being moved from Chai Chee to Bedok, is relatively unchanged too.
272, 273, 274 and 284 have also remained the same since 1980. That's 24 years! Unless radical changes occur in Telok Blangah and Clementi, these services will remain intact for more years to come.

Service 170 has minor route amendment in Woodlands Centre Rd area and calling at staggered bus stops there when the new Woodlands checkpoint opened.Originally posted by xin1jun2:i cant really think of any bus service that exits today and back then. most if not all the main turnkies have been amended a few bus stops here and there. for example svc 170 is counted as amended at least in the johore part.

Agreed. Service 287 was integrated with service 282. Service 285 (plus other services) was amended to ply Clementi Ave 3 (towards Pandan Loop only) when Clementi MRT station was opened and a ban of right turn from Ave 3 into C'wealth Ave West came into effect.Originally posted by freakybuses:Only 284's route has remained intact for more than 25 years... St. Michael's services have red/white plates. For instance Sv. 21 DDs use white plate to St. MikesOriginally posted by tranquilice:If I remember correctly, service 143 formerly (what about now?) also use Red/White plate.
I believe that beside the In/Out cards, the St. Michael's services (21, 124, 125, 131 and 186) have Red/White plates too.

I dont understand why 135 needs R/W platesOriginally posted by freakybuses:135 alsoRed towards AMK

Interesting, I never noticed this is still in use. I know before SBS changed from green/white to red/white, SBS 135 was still using it for historical reasons and probably for the comfort of the elderly who cannot read English. (FYI, Services 158 and 135 formerly looped at MacPherson in a similar fashion as service 155.)Originally posted by freakybuses:135 alsoRed towards AMK

Sv. 135 doesn't need the red/white combi plates anymore, perhaps its to assist the elderly.Originally posted by Yusry:Interesting, I never noticed this is still in use. I dunno the route. The route was later cut short to become Princess Elizabeth - Jln Anak Bt loop service (if I remember correctly), then again it was integrated with service 205 (Clementi - Jln Anak Bt) to become the current service. As for how the route between Bt Batok and Hillview came about, I have no idea.Originally posted by freakybuses:btw, how was 173 original route from Princess Elizabeth Ter to New Bridge Rd reduced to Bt Batok - Clementi ?
